FRESHMAN YEAR | 2016: Competed in six meets, including the conference, regional and national championships...posted a career-best 6K time of 21:44.5 to finish within the top half of the field at the NCAA Mountain Regional (62nd)...added a time of 21:50.3 in NCAA Championships debut (219th)...finished 47th at the Mountain West Championships (22:03.5)...completed the Pre-National Invitational course in a time of 23:13.4 (203rd)...opened the season with a 5K time of 19:24.2 at the Colorado State Invitational (39th)...improved that distance to 18:11.1 at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational (143rd)...academic all-conference selection...Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
MAJOR TRACK AND FIELD HIGHLIGHTS: Set an Academy record in the 2000-meter steeplechase (7:12.05)...also clocked the second-fastest time in Academy history in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:47.31)...that time is also a new Freshman Class Record...ran on the 4x1600-meter relay that clocked an Academy-best time of 19:34.05...also ran on the distance medley relay that clocked the eighth-fastest time in Academy history (12:05.02a).
HIGH SCHOOL: Tabb High School...won the Virginia 3A state title in the 1600-meter run as a senior...also ran on the 4x800-meter relay that won the state title that year...four-time runner-up at the state championships...won 19 conference and regional titles...holds 10 THS cross country and track records (seven individual events, three relays)...named the Peninsula Sports Club Female Athlete of the Year in 2016...also selected as the club's Most Outstanding Female Track Athlete of the Year (2015) and Most Outstanding Female Cross Country Athlete of the Year (2016)...received Tabb High School's Marine Corps Award...member of the National Honor Society...served as NHS treasurer as a senior...PTSA Liaison in student council...finalist for the 2015 VHSL Creative Writing State Championship...maintained a weighted GPA of 4.5 (unweighted 4.0)...graduated with Highest Honors.
PERSONAL: Full name is Lindsey Karin Blanks...daughter of Dave and Kathleen Blanks...both parents served in the Air Force...has three younger sisters...majoring in operations research...future plans include becoming a pilot...hobbies include baking, watching movies, hiking and traveling...has run in six half marathons and hopes to run a full marathon after graduation...member of Cadet Squadron 19.

After competing at all three conference meets and earning varsity letters in all three seasons, she’s going to be much better prepared going into her second year.
