JUNIOR YEAR | 2015: All-American...also earned all-region and all-conference honors...finished 28th out of 252 runners at the NCAA Championships (30:17.3) to become the program's first cross country All-American since 2003...registered the program's best finish at the championship meet since 1995...earned an automatic bid to the national meet after placing third at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships...clocked a career-best 10K of 29:58.1 to pace the Falcons to two of the top-four finishes...that time is ranked third on the program's all-time list...earned first-team all-conference status after placing third at the Mountain West Championships...clocked a time of 26:30.5 to help Air Force to two of the top-three individual finishes and the program's first team title since 2003...posted a career-best 8K of 23:35.4 to finish 15th out of 106 runners at the Washington Invitational...that is the third-fastest 8K in program history...also accounted for the Academy's fourth-fastest time at that distance, recording a 23:41.0 to finish 22nd out of 288 runners at the Pre-National Invitational...registered the fourth-fastest 5K time in program history (15:03.8) to finish eighth at the Colorado State Invitational.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2014: Competed in five meets, including the conference and regional championships...was the Falcons' top finisher at the season-opening Fresno State Invitational...clocked the Academy's second-fastest 6K time in 25 years (18:41.40) to finish fifth at that meet and lead Air Force to the team title...debuted in fifth on the program's five-mile standings, clocking a time of 24:24.40 at the Notre Dame Invitational (75th)...clocked a career-best 8K time of 24:26.00 to finish 22nd at the Mountain West Championships...also competed in that distance at the Pre-National Invitational, clocking a time of 25:55.50 (168th)...finished 60th at the NCAA Mountain Region Championship with a 10K time of 31:51.76.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2013: Participated in three meets, including the conference championships...finished 41st at the Mountain West Championships in a time of 25:47.05...ran a career-best 8K of 25:18.00 to place 28th in the open section of the Wisconsin adidas Invitational...also competed in the 5K Colorado State Open, finishing 52nd with a time of 15:59.2.

MAJOR TRACK AND FIELD HIGHLIGHTS: Recorded a Mountain West Outdoor Championship Meet Record time of 29:49.83 to win the 10,000-meter conference title in 2015...used that mark to debut in ninth on the Academy's all-time list...also participated in that event at the NCAA West Preliminary Meet as a sophomore...finished third in the indoor 5000-meter run and outdoor 10,000-meter run to earn all-conference honors in both during junior year...impacted the program's all-time standings in two indoor events during the 2016 season...clocked the seventh-fastest 5000-meter time (14:07.40) at the Husky Classic and the 10th-fastest mile time (4:05.78, adjusted for altitude) at the Air Force Invitational...ran the leadoff leg of the distance medley relay squad that finished second at the 2015 MW Indoor Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lowell Senior High School...placed fifth at the Indiana High School State Cross Country Championships in 2012...conference champion...also won the sectional and regional cross country championship meets...placed 28th at the Footlocker Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships as a senior...finished first in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter races at the conference track and field championships...two-time state qualifier in the 3200-meter run (junior year, senior year)...won high school talent show two years in a row for dancing, the first for a duo and the second for interpretive dance.

PERSONAL: Full name is Kyle Francis Eller...nickname is "Frosh"...son of Dean and Melanie Eller...father retired from the Air Force with the rank of major...has two sisters, Kayla and Maria...also has one brother, Ben, who is currently serving in the Air Force...majoring in management...future plans include becoming the head coach of the Cleveland Browns...served as Character Officer...hobbies include flamingo racing, getting lost on runs, travelling with stuffed polar bears, sloth wrestling and eating ice cream...dabbles in fashioning gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...touched Seth Avett's beard on July 8, 2015, to check another task off of his bucket list...served as a counselor for Falcon Sports Camps and flew airplanes over the summer...also road-tripped to Canada for a wedding and visited Niagara Falls with girlfriend...member of Cadet Squadron 14.


COACH COLE ON KYLE: A returning cross country All-American, Kyle's competitive poise makes him an excellent runner. He's been able to compete at higher and higher levels each year of his collegiate career, so I'm very interested to see how fast Kyle can run this year now that he's realized how good he can be.
