JUNIOR YEAR | 2014: Competed in two 8K events...clocked a season-best time of 26:44.60 to finish 12th at the Woody Greeno Invitational...ran a 27:53.00 at the Rocky Mountain Shootout (68th)...academic all-conference selection.
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2013: Participated in three meets...Air Force's top finisher at Fort Hays State Tiger Open...clocked a career-best 25:05.30 to finish 19th at that meet...ran an 8K at the Rocky Mountain Shootout, finishing 52nd in 28:08.00...opened the season at the Colorado State Open, placing 60th with a 5K time of 16:08.90...academic all-conference selection.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2012: Competed at the Metro State Invitational...finished 43rd with an 8K time of 28:46.0.
MAJOR TRACK AND FIELD HIGHLIGHTS: Earned all-conference honors as a member of the distance medley relay team that finished second at the Mountain West Indoor Championships in 9:45.12 (adjusted for altitude)...that time is ranked sixth on the Academy's all-time list...ran on two of the five-fastest 4x800-meter relays in program history...anchored the squad that clocked the second-fastest time (7:35.07) at the 2013 Drake Relays and ran the second leg of the team that clocked the fifth-fastest time (7:39.69) at the 2015 meet.
HIGH SCHOOL: Cherry Creek High School...served as the team captain for both the cross country and track teams during the 2011-12 academic year...earned all-conference and all-league honors in cross country as a senior...all-state selection in track as a member of the 4x800-meter relay team...also lettered two years in hockey...2011 Hobey Baker Award recipient...graduated with a 4.42 GPA...Chinese Honor Society officer and member.
PERSONAL: Full name is Grant Thomas Caswell...nickname is "Ulysses"...son of Chuck and Diana Caswell...has one younger brother, Austin...majoring in computer science...earning a minor in Chinese...future plans include becoming an intelligence officer...served as squadron's Athletic Officer...named to the Dean's List and Athletic Director's List...hobbies include acting in Civil War reenactments, following horoscope, panning for gold in the Rocky Mountains, participating in science experiments and watching the Lord of the Rings movies...favorite things include National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets (movie), Goodnight Moon (book), tennis on Wii Sport (sport) and electronic Latin music (music genre)...raised a guide dog to assist the blind...served as Assistant Course Commander of the Leadership Reaction Course over the summer...also worked as cadre for Expeditionary Survival and Evasion Training (ESET) and participated in the Cadet Summer Research Program (CSRP)...member of Cadet Squadron 40.
