Cross Country Announces 2008 Schedule

With 10 planned meets on the horizon, Air Force cross country head coach John Hayes recently announced the program's schedule for the upcoming 2008 academic year. The Falcons will travel to seven meets during the regular season, en route to the conference, regional and national championship meets. The season officially gets underway on Friday, Aug. 29, in Laramie, Wyo.

Kenny Grosselin Named to Academic All-America Team

Kenny Grosselin, a 2008 graduate of the Air Force Academy, was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Men's Track and Field/Cross Country First-Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and released on Monday, June 23. He is the third Falcon to earn this honor.

Nine Falcons Named MWC Scholar-Athletes

Nine members of the Air Force cross country team were named to the Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete list, the league office announced this afternoon (June 23). Seven men and two women highlighted the cross country team's list, which features the most accolades of any Air Force sport. Kenny Grosselin and Brittany Morreale paced their respective squads.

Lomong Claims Top American Finish in Prefontaine Mile

First-year Air Force volunteer cross country coach Lopez Lomong was the top American finisher in the Bowerman Mile at the prestigious Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field on Sunday, June 8, in Eugene, Ore. One of nine runners to clock a sub-four-minute mile, Lomong placed fifth overall with a time of 3:53.97. [+]

Kenny Grosselin and Brittany Morreale were named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Track and Field/Cross Country All-District VII Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Volunteer XC Coach Lomong Earns Olympic A Standard

Lopez Lomong, the new volunteer coach for the Air Force cross country team, earned the Olympic `A' qualifying mark in the 1500-meter run at the adidas Track Classic over the weekend. Lomong, a two-time national champion and five-time All-American at Northern Arizona (2005-07), finished fourth with a career-best time of 3:36.36. [+]

Air Force Men Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

The Air Force men's cross country team earned All-Academic Team honors, the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced. It is the fifth time in Academy history that the Falcons have earned the All-Academic Team distinction. Air Force was one of 98 men's programs to receive the honor. [+]

Kenny Grosselin Awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Air Force senior cross country/distance runner Kenny Grosselin was named a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, the NCAA announced. Grosselin, a captain for the cross country team during the fall season, becomes the seventh member of the cross country program to earn the prestigious award. [+]

Falcons Place 13 on Academic All-MWC List

The Air Force cross country team placed 13 of its members on the Mountain West Conference all-academic team, the league office announced today (Feb. 7). The 10 members of the men's team and three members of the women's team were some of the 379 athletes named to the all-conference list. Kelly Robinson earns her fourth academic all-conference honor.
