The Air Force men's cross country received votes in the 2014 preseason coaches' poll, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association recently announced. It is the second straight season that the Falcons have been mentioned in the preseason national poll.
The Air Force men's cross country team was picked to finish third in the Mountain West, the league office announced this afternoon (Aug. 21) with the release of the annual preseason coaches' poll. While the men tied for third in the eight-team standings, the women were picked to sixth out of 11 teams.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Ryan Cole, the Falcons will compete in five regular season meets, as they prepare for the conference, regional and national championships.
Ryan Cole was named the head coach of the Air Force cross country program, the Academy's athletic department announced today. In addition to his head coaching duties with the cross country team, Cole will also serve as the distance coach during the track and field season.
Air Force cross country head coach Juli Benson has announced her retirement from collegiate coaching, due to family reasons. Benson, who also oversaw the middle distance and distance runners as an assistant coach with the Falcons' track and field team, has been instrumental in the squad's success over the last six seasons.
