 Falcons Hand Out End-Of-Season Awards12/2/2009-Cross Country The Air Force cross country team wrapped up a successful 2009 campaign this evening (Dec. 2) with its annual end-of-the-season banquet at the Academy Press Box. Junior Justin Tyner and senior Ally Romanko were the recipients of the program's MVP awards, while several other Falcons received special recognition for their contributions this season. Competing in a field of 250 of the nation's top distance runners, Tyner placed 71st with a 10,000-meter time of 30:37.6. [+]Brittany Morreale Named Rhodes Scholar11/23/2009-Cross Country Senior Air Force distance runner Brittany Morreale (Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif.) was awarded one of 32 Rhodes Scholarships for 2010. Morreale is the Academy's 36th recipient of this prestigious award and the 11th cadet-athlete to earn the honor. [+]Justin Tyner Heads to NCAA Championships11/19/2009-Cross Country Air Force junior Justin Tyner will represent the Academy at the 2009 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Monday, Nov. 21. The national meet, featuring 31 teams and 38 individual competitors, will take place on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The men's race will start at 12:08 p.m. (EST). [+]VERSUS to Televise NCAA Cross Country Championships Live11/18/2009-Cross Country The 2009 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be broadcast live on VERSUS, marking the third consecutive year the championships will be seen on live television, and the first with VERSUS. [+]Justin Tyner Selected to NCAA Championships11/15/2009-Cross Country Air Force junior Justin Tyner (Baxter, Minn.) was officially selected to the 2009 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships this evening (Nov. 15), as the NCAA selection committee announced the field for the upcoming national meet. With the berth, Tyner is the first Air Force runner to compete at the NCAA Championships since Matt Williams in 2007. [+]
