Air Force Track and Field Announces 2017-18 Schedule

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Highlighted by six home competitions and road trips to several of the nation’s premier events, the Air Force track and field team released its schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 season this afternoon. The Falcons will host five indoor meets at the Cadet Field House and one outdoor meet at the Cadet Track and Field Complex.

Air Force opens the season in early December, when they host the annual Holiday Open at the Academy’s Cadet Field House on Dec. 8. The Falcons continue their home schedule in the new year with the Air Force Combined Events Meet (Jan. 18-19), Air Force Team Challenge (Jan. 19), Air Force Invitational (Jan. 26-27) and Air Force Collegiate Open (Feb. 16). During the outdoor season, Air Force will host its annual Twilight Open to conclude the regular season on May 4.

The Falcons will also compete at the Potts Indoor Invitational (Jan. 12-13) and Colorado Open (Feb. 2-3) in Boulder during the indoor season, while the team will split for the Texas Tech Invitational, Washington Husky Classic and Adams State Last Qualifier over the Feb. 9-10 weekend.

The 2018 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held Feb. 22-24 in Albuquerque, N.M., while the NCAA Indoor Championships will take place in College Station, Texas, on March 9-10.

Air Force opens the outdoor season at Colorado’s Jerry Quiller Classic on March 16-17. The Falcons will split for the Texas Relays, San Francisco State Distance Carnival, Stanford Invitational and Texas State Invitational over the Mar. 29-31 weekend, while also traveling to multiple meets over the April 6-7 weekend (Sun Angel Classic, Colorado Invitational). Following a trip to Colorado State for the Jack Christiansen Invitational on April 13-14, the team will head to California for five meets (California Invitational Combined Events Meet, Mt. SAC Relays, Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, Bryan Clay Invitational, Beach Invitational) during the week of April 18-21, and close out the road portion of its regular season at the prestigious Drake Relays on April 26-28.



The MW Outdoor Championships will be held May 9-12 in Clovis, Calif., while the NCAA Outdoor Championships begin with the preliminary round in Sacramento, Calif., on May 24-26, and conclude with the finals in Eugene, Ore., on June 6-9.
