Paige Blackburn Places Fifth at NACAC Under-23 Championships

GUANAJUATO, Mexico - Air Force's Paige Blackburn, a 2012 Academy graduate and MVP of the women's track and field program, finished fifth in the javelin throw at the North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships on Sunday, July 8, in Guanajuato, Mexico.

As a member of Team USA, Blackburn tossed a 162'9" to finish fifth in a field of athletes from the United States, Mexico and Canada. Mexico's Abigail Gomez claimed the gold medal with a throw of 186'7".

The NACAC Under-23 Championships concluded the collegiate season for the Falcons, although volunteer coach Jenny Simpson will compete in the 1500-meter run at the 2012 Olympics Games.
