Coppinger Breaks Own School Record In Steeplechase

    Des Moines, IA - Lara Coppinger set a new school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Thursday at the Drake Relays. The senior from Portland, OR, finished fourth overall with a time of 11:01.43 to break the Air Force record she set last week at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, CA.

    At Mt. SAC, Coppinger ran 11:02.5 to break the old record of 11:09.40 set by Jean Taylor last season.

    In other action. Shawn Temple and Tom Clark both established personal bests in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles. Temple ran 52.23 while Clark posted a time of 52.27.
