Track and Field Splits for Saturday Competitions

Meet Notes 13: at Michael Johnson Invitational, at Jack Christiansen Invitational Get Acrobat Reader

The Air Force track and field team returns to action this Saturday (April 22), when it splits for a pair of competitions. Part of the squad will travel to Waco, Texas, for the annual Michael Johnson Invitational, while the rest of the squad remains in Colorado for the Jack Christiansen Invitational in Fort Collins.

The Michael Johnson Invitational will take place at Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium on the campus of Baylor University (a complete schedule of events is listed below). Live stats will be available via Delta Timing (a direct link will be posted to the Falcons' schedule), while FloTrack will broadcast the meet. In addition, Air Force updates will be provided on the team's official Twitter account (@af_trackfield).

The meet is scheduled to include nationally-ranked teams from Baylor (No. 19m, No. 24w), Miami (No. 19w), Texas (No. 10m, No. 9w), Texas A&M (No. 2m, No. 8w) and Texas Tech (No. 8m), as well as squads from Abilene Christian, Air Force, Angelo State, Cal State Fullerton, George Mason, Lamar, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, TCU and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

9:00 a.m.: Javelin Throw; 11:00 a.m.: Hammer Throw; 11:00 a.m.: High Jump; 12:00 p.m.: Men's Long Jump; 12:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump; 12:00 p.m.: Shot Put; 1:00 p.m.: Afternoon Track Session (1500-Meter Run, 100-/110-Meter Hurdles, 800-Meter Run, 100-Meter Dash, 400-Meter Dash, 400-Meter Hurdles, 200-Meter Dash, 5000-Meter Run); 4:00 p.m.: Women's Triple Jump; 5:00 p.m.: Evening Track Session (3000-Meter Steeplechase, 4x100-Meter Relay, 100-/110-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 100-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 400-Meter Hurdles, 200-Meter Dash, 1500-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay; 6:30 p.m.: Men's Triple Jump (unless noted, the men will compete first in all field events and the women will compete first in all running events)

The Jack Christiansen Invitational will be held on the track of the same name, which is located at the corner of College and Pitkin in Fort Collins. Several schools from along the Front Range will be competing at the meet, including the 16th-ranked men's team from Colorado State. Admission is free, but live stats are currently not scheduled to be available.

The Falcons travel to Des Moines, Iowa, next week (April 27-29) for the 108th-annual Drake Relays.
