INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Junior Brian Walsh and sophomore Travis Picou were invited to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, the NCAA announced last night (March 6). Both athletes will be making their first appearance at the national meet, which runs Friday-Saturday (March 10-11) at the Tyson Indoor Track Complex in Fayetteville, Ark.
Walsh's provisional heptathlon total of 5412 came at the Mountain West Conference Championships, where he claimed his first conference title, broke the Academy's all-time record and set a new championship-meet record. Walsh is currently ranked 16th in the nation heading into the national finals.
Picou will compete in the 200-meter dash, after posting a provisional time of 21.11 during the finals at the MWC Championships.
