COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force senior Nick Frawley (Midlothian, Texas) claimed his second Mountain West Conference Athlete of the Week award of the season, the league office announced this afternoon (Feb. 9). Frawley, who also won the award following the season-opener on Jan. 15, has now claimed the conference's weekly award four times during his career.

Frawley won the pole vault at the New Mexico Classic on Feb. 6, clearing a NCAA Provisional Qualifying bar of 17'6½". The clearance marked the third time in four meets that he has surpassed the provisional standard. Frawley, the top collegiate vaulter, tied for first with former Academy standout Paul Gensic to place first in a field of 29, including competitors from No. 10 Stanford and No. 15 Texas Tech.

The senior is already ranked fifth in the nation with a season-best height of 17'7¾" - a height that remains the best in the conference to date.

Frawley earned the men's honor outright, while BYU's Mindy McClurkin and San Diego State's Stephanie James shared the women's award.

The Falcons return to action this weekend (Feb. 12-13), when they host the annual Air Force Invitational at the Cadet Field House.
