FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Four members of the Air Force hammer throw team opened competition at the Jack Christiansen Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo., this afternoon (April 26), with junior Jalen Fooster recording the sixth-best distance in program history.

Fooster improved his own distance in the hammer by nearly four feet to finish fourth in the 16-member competition (third among collegiate throwers) at Colorado State's Jack Christiansen Invitational. Tossing a 192'6", Fooster moved from ninth into a tie for sixth on the program's all-time list (with Jason McNeal, 2004). Classmate William Kent added a throw of 172'4" to finish 10th in the men's field.

On the women's side, junior Becca Bauman finished fifth in the field of 15 with a toss of 162'9", while sophomore Danielle Tabb placed 12th with a toss of 130'2".

The rest of the Falcons head to Colorado State tomorrow (April 27) for a full day of competition at the Jack Christiansen Invitational. Action begins at 10 a.m., with the men's long jump, women's high jump and men's pole vault.
