PALO ALTO, Calif. - Two improvements in the Academy's all-time 5000-meter lists highlighted the final day of action at the Stanford Invitational for three members of the Air Force track and field team. Sophomore Brittany Morreale set a new Sophomore Class record with the fourth-best time in women's history, while senior Ian McFarland finished second with the seventh-best all-time mark.

Morreale clocked a career-best time of 17:06.65 to finish 11th in the women's 5000. That time is a 13-second improvement, bettering her previous mark of 17:19.23. It is the fourth-best time in Academy history and a new Sophomore Classic record, displacing the 19-year-old mark of 17:07.42 that Callie Calhoun set in 1989.

Finishing second in the 27-member race, McFarland made his 5000-meter debut in the program record book. His time of 14:10.16 is a personal improvement by nearly 22 seconds. McFarland was one of two Falcons to compete in the race. Junior Matt Williams clocked a time of 14:31.35 to finish 20th.
