FRESHMAN (2011): Competed in the shot put and weight throw during the indoor season...recorded a career-best shot put distance of 42'0" at the Air Force All-Comers Meet...tossed a personal-best mark of 54'6" in the weight throw at the Robert Shine Invitational...competed in the hammer throw once during the outdoor season...threw a 153'4" to finish sixth at the Yellow Jacket Invitational. HIGH SCHOOL: George Walton High School...placed ninth at the Georgia High School Weight Throw Championships...competed for "Throw 1 Deep" Track Club...also competed in the hammer throw and discus throw. PERSONAL: Full name is William Arthur Kent...son of Brad and Barbee Kent...has one older brother, Richard, who is a senior at Vanderbilt University and the starting punter on the Commodores' football team...majoring in civil engineering...future career plans include civil engineer...served as Squadron Superintendent...hobbies include shooting, cooking and reading...traveled to Nellis AFB, Nev., for Civil Engineering Ops...both grandfathers and one uncle served in the military...member of Cadet Squadron 36. |
