    Team captain...

    JUNIOR (2011): Received the Bret Hyde Award for Drive and Determination...ran a leg of the outdoor distance medley relay team that set an Academy record at the Drake Relays...recorded a 1600-meter time of 4:06.3 at that meet to help the Falcons to an overall time of 9:44.64...that time was nearly one second fastest than the previous time that had stood since 1994...shared the team's Field Athlete of the Week award with rest of relay team following that meet...clocked the third-fastest 5000-meter time in Academy history during the outdoor season...recorded a personal-best 13:55.33 (adjusted for altitude) at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships...finished fourth at that meet...competed in the national semifinals of the 5000-meter run...finished 21st at the NCAA West Preliminary with a time of 14:00.17...competed in the 1500-meter run at the Sun Angel Classic, clocking a season-best time of 3:51.16...also participated in the 4x1600-meter relay team (16:59.86) that finished eighth at the Drake Relays...moved into second on the Academy's all-time list in the indoor 5000-meter run...clocked career-best 13:56.21a to finish second at the MWC Indoor Championships...all-conference honoree...also scored for the Falcons in the 3000-meter run at the conference meet, finishing fourth in a season-best time of 8:09.21a...won the mile at the Don Barrett Duals in a career-best time of 4:13.86a.

    SOPHOMORE (2010): Received the team's Most Improved Athlete award...recorded the third-best outdoor 5000-meter time in program history (13:56.66) at the Mt. SAC Relays...became just the third Air Force runner to break the 14-minute mark in the 5000-meter distance...that marks is also a Sophomore Class record...advanced to the semifinals of the 5000-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Championships...time of 13:56.66 was ranked 23rd in the region...placed fifth in the 5000-meter event at the conference championship (14:54.46)...finished second at that distance at the Military Championships in 14:16.64...also placed second in the 1500-meter race at that meet (3:51.81)...scored for the Falcons in both the 1500-meter (seventh, 3:51.78) and 5000-meter (fifth, 14:54.46) races at the MWC Championships...won the 1500-meter run at the George Mason Invitational with a time of 3:57.36...earned the team's Track Athlete of the Week award following that meet...set the program's Sophomore Class record in the 3000-meter run at the Washington Final Qualifier...clocked a career-best 8:03.58 to easily win the race by 14 seconds...that time is also the eighth-fastest time in Academy history...earned all-conference honors as a member of the distance medley relay team that finished third at the MWC Indoor Championships (10:05.76)...also earned a sixth-place finish in the 3000-meter run at that meet (8:28.09).

    FRESHMAN (2009): Scored for the Falcons in the 10,000-meter run at the MWC Championships...clocked a time of 31:30.72 (adjusted for altitude) to place eighth at that meet...posted the team's fourth-fastest time in the 5000-meter run...recorded a time of 14:36.24 at the Front Range Invitational...also competed in the 1500-meter run, clocking a season-best time of 4:05.10a at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...participated in the outdoor 3000-meter run, clocking a time of 8:44.04 at the Missouri Tom Botts Invitational...competed in the mile and 3000-meter run during the indoor season...posted a time of 4:19.98a at the Air Force Invitational...clocked a time of 8:27.57a at the MWC Championships...finished sixth in 5000-meter run (14:59.66) at the 2009 U.S. Junior National Championships.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Horizon High School...2007 Footlocker National Finalist (23rd)...Arizona 5AD2 individual cross country champion as a senior...also won the Mt. SAC SuperSweeps and the Doug Conley Invitational cross country titles in 2007...finished second at the Arizona 5AD1 state meet as a junior...member of two teams that finished second at the Arizona 5AD2 state meets in 2006 and 2007...team also finished second at the 2006 Doug Conley Invitational...earned multiple regional and district titles...won the 1600-meter run at the state track and field championships as a senior...was a member of the Arizona 5AD2 championship team in 2008...clocked personal-best times of 4:17 in the 1600-meter run and 9:13 in the 3200-meter run...also lettered two years in soccer...member of the National Honor Society...two-time French Honorary...four-year member of the Society of Gentlemen Scholars.

    PERSONAL: Son of Harry and Joan Walmsley...goes by Jim...has a twin brother, Wil, who is on the rugby team at Arizona State University...also has a sister, Kim, that attends the University of Arizona...majoring in biology...future plans include attending dental school...hobbies include rock climbing, bowling and basketball...earned all-conference and all-region honors during the 2011 cross country season...named the Mountain West Cross Country Athlete of the Week twice in 2011...member of Cadet Squadron 07.
