    SOPHOMORE (2011): Became the 10th Falcon to clear the 17-foot mark during indoor competition...cleared 17'0¾" to win the Don Barrett Duals and move into a tie for seventh on the program's all-time list...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week following that meet...was the runner-up at the Air Force All-Comers Meet (16'0¾")...scored for the Falcons at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships...cleared 16'6¾" to finish seventh at that meet...qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary (national semifinals) in the pole vault...cleared 16'8¾" to finish second at the Front Range Classic...that clearance is the ninth-best mark in Academy history...also finished second at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (16'8").

    FRESHMAN (2010): Won the pole vault at the Air Force Invitational and Robert Shine Invitational during the indoor season with matching career-best heights of 16'6¾"...claimed the team's Field Athlete of the Week award following the Robert Shine Invitational...also finished within the top five at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational (15'7")...cleared a career-best 16'¾" twice during the outdoor season...first set that mark at the Mt. SAC Relays to finish second at that meet...matched that height with a sixth-place finish at the Mountain West Conference Championships...finished second at the Military Championships with a clearance of 16'0¾"...was also the runner-up at the Tom Benich Classic (16'0¾").

    HIGH SCHOOL: Rocklin High School...CIF-San Joaquin Section champion in the pole vault...two-time California state qualifier...recorded a personal-best high school clearance of 16'4"...passed on competing at the state meet as a senior to participate in the Rocklin High School graduation ceremony...ranked second in the state of California and seventh in the nation as a senior.

    PERSONAL: Full name is Robert, but goes by Rob...son of Craig and Carol Simmons...has a twin brother, Cale, who is also an Academy junior and member of the Air Force pole vault team...has one older sister, Rachel, who is a second lieutenant in the Air Force ...also has two younger sisters, Olivia and Isabel...nicknames are "Thing 1", "Glasses", "Iceman" and "Gator"...majoring in chemistry...future plans include becoming a pilot...member of the "500 Club" for earning a perfect score on the PFT...named to the Dean's List...served as Morale, Welfare and Recreation NCO and Element Leader during Basic Cadet Training...hobbies include skydiving, painting, yoga, long walks on the beach, fruit smoothies, beating smacks, juggling, scuba diving with sharks, competitive eating and rock climbing...worked Basic Cadet Training over the summer...member of Cadet Squadron 21.
