    Track and Field Places 39 on Academic All-Conference List

    Paige Blackburn, Katie Carroll and Kimber Shealy claimed their fourth straight academic all-MW honors.

    SOPHOMORE (2012): Matched career-best clearance of 5'8" in the indoor high jump at the New Mexico Classic...finished fourth at that meet, while equaling the second-best height in Academy history...received the team's Field Athlete of the Week award following that meet...finished second in that event at the Air Force All-Comers Meet (5'5")...also recorded that clearance at the Air Force Blue-Silver Open (third) and at the Air Force Team Challenge (ninth)...scored for the Falcons in the high jump at the Mountain West Indoor Championships, placing sixth with a clearance of 5'6"...also earned points for Air Force at the MW Outdoor Championships, clearing 5'3¾" to finish seventh...posted an outdoor-best height of 5'5¾" at the Colorado Invitational to finish third...also earned top-three finishes during the outdoor season at the Front Range Classic (second, 5'5") and Air Force Relays (third, 5'3")......academic all-conference selection...MW Scholar-Athlete.

    FRESHMAN (2011): Moved into a tie for second on the Academy's all-time list for the indoor high jump...cleared 5'8" at the New Mexico Classic to tie the Freshman Class Record...became the first Falcon in over 10 years to move into the program's top five at the Nebraska adidas Classic...cleared 5'7" to finish second at that meet...also finished second at the Air Force All-Comers Meet and Don Barrett Duals with matching clearances of 5'5"...claimed the team's Field Athlete of the Week award twice during the indoor season...posted the third-best outdoor clearance in the high jump (including ties) at 5'6"...first recorded that clearance at the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational to finish third...matched that mark at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...was the top collegiate finisher at that meet, finishing second overall...also finished second at the UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational (5'4¼")...scored for the Falcons at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships with a sixth-place height of 5'5"...academic all-conference selection...MWC Scholar-Athlete.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Wellsboro Area High School...three-time Pennsylvania District 4 champion in the high jump...district record holder in that event at 5'7"...finished fourth in the high jump at the 2009 PIAA state championships...finished fifth in that event in 2008...placed 13th in both the high jump and triple jump at the 2010 state championship meet...member of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed fourth at the state meet as a senior...also competed in basketball and golf...received the Ray Strykowski Memorial Award in basketball...became the first female in school history to compete on the varsity golf team...received the John Antoine Female Athlete of the Year Award and the Babe Ruth Good Sportsmanship Award...served as vice-president of the National Honor Society...class valedictorian.
