JUNIOR YEAR | 2015-16: Competed in the weight throw during eight meets...registered a career-best throw of 56'2½" to finish fourth at the Rocky Mountain Classic...won the Adams State Qualifier with a throw of 54'9½"...opened the season with a runner-up finish at the Air Force Holiday Open (50'3¼")...competed in the hammer throw during two outdoor meets...recorded a career-best distance of 171'9" during a sixth-place performance at the Michael Johnson Invitational.
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2014-15: Participated in the weight throw six times...tossed a career-best 50'0½" at the Rocky Mountain Classic...posted highest finish at the Air Force Holiday Open (sixth, 45'2¼")...competed in the hammer throw five times...recorded a personal-best 147'0" to finish fifth at the Air Force Twilight Open...earned highest finish at the New Mexico Quadrangular (third, 134'10")...also competed in the discus at that meet, finishing third (120'7") in only appearance.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2013-14: Did not compete for the Air Force track and field team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Landmark Christian School...four-year letterwinner in track and field...finished third at the state championship meet...also lettered four years in football and basketball...earned all-region honors in football...member of the National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Full name is Reed Jackson McGuire...son of Perry and Lauren McGuire...mother played basketball at Furman University...has three siblings...older sister Lauren is a 2013 Academy graduate, former member of the Falcons' swim team and current second lieutenant in the Air Force...older sister Christian competed in track and field at Samford University and younger brother Stockton is freshman quarterback on the Davidson University football team...majoring in management...future plans include becoming a contracting officer...serving as Flight Commander...named to the Athletic Director's List for excellence in athletic performance...hobbies include reading, watching movies, exercising, shooting and anything involving water...traveled to Mexico over the summer as a part of the Academy's Cadet Summer Language Immersion Program...also took an electrical engineering course and worked the second session of Basic Cadet Training...member of Cadet Squadron 25.
