2007: Member of the all-conference 4x100-meter relay team that finished third at the Mountain West Conference championships...also a member of the relay squad that recorded a time of 40.70 at the Air Force Twilight Invitational...that time is the fourth fastest in Academy history...ran with the winning 4x100-meter relay team at the Military Classic...led the team in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.40...ran the 200-meter dash in a season-best time of 22.45 at the Wyoming Invitational...won the 400-meter dash at the Potts Invitational and the 400-meter hurdles at the Air Force Twilight Invitational...ran the opening leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that set a season-best time (3:15.77) at the TCR Race Productions Invitational...clocked a season-best time of 49.02 in the 400-meter dash at the MWC championships...recorded a season-best 60-meter hurdles time of 8.40 at the Air Force Open.

2006: Led the team in the 60-meter hurdles (indoor) and 400-meter hurdles (outdoor)...clocked a season-best 8.45 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Air Force All-Comers Meet...earned the team's Track Athlete of the Week award following that meet...also competed in the 60-meter dash...collected a season-best time of 7.14 at the All-Comers Meet...won the 400-meter hurdles at the Ris Westen Air Force Twilight Meet after collecting a career-best time of 54.74...collected a season-best time of 15.42 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Colorado Invitational.

2005: Competed in the outdoor season...recorded the second-best 400-meter hurdles time of the season...clocked a 57.79 at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...also recorded a career-best time of 15.83 in the 110-meter hurdles at that meet...ran the 200-meter dash at the Falcon Open, posting a season-best time of 23:34.

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed on the track team...finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at the Mississippi state championships as a junior...placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles at the state meet as a senior...also a member of the football team...served as captain of receiver for 5A Mississippi football...member of the soccer team...served as captain of team...played in two state soccer championships (2001, 2004)...president of the National French Honor Society...vice-president of the Key Club...member of Mu Alpha Theta...served as a Mississippi Boys State Delegate in 2003...member of the National Honor Society...member of the Tupelo High School Wave Connection (show choir)...voted Most Handsome in of eight males and eight females to be voted Class Favorite in 2003...repeated that honor in 2004.

PERSONAL: Son of Hiram and Lela Payne (father and step-mother) and Deborah Payne (mother)...father is a 1973 graduate of the Air Force Academy.....siblings include one sister Amy, one brother Nathan (deceased) and three step-brothers John Hall, Eric Faris, Jordan Faris...majoring in political science...also earning a minor in French and philosophy...future plans include receiving a master's and doctorate in political science and philosophy...hobbies include reading, skiing and cooking...served as First Sergeant of the BCT Cobras Squadron...also served as First Sergeant of CS-23 and Chief of Major Training Events.
