Hammer Throw, Shot Put

SOPHOMORE (2008): Moved up in the Academy record books in the hammer throw and weight throw...recorded the second-best throw in program history (194'3") at the Colorado Invitational...that mark is also a Sophomore Class record...NCAA Regional Qualifier...first set Sophomore Class record (186'10") at the Tom Benich Classic...placed fifth in the hammer throw at the Mountain West Conference championships with a distance of 173'11"...record the team's second-best shot put distance of the season (46'11¾") at the Louisville Classic...set a Sophomore Class record in the weight throw during the indoor season...recorded a distance of 59'5" at the Big 12/MWC Challenge...that mark is the third-best throw in Academy history...finished sixth in both the shot put (51'2¼") and weight throw (57'6½") at the conference's indoor championships...that shot put distance was the second best on the team...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week award once during the outdoor season.

FRESHMAN (2007): Named co-Newcomer of the Year...NCAA Regional Qualifier...placed eighth in the hammer with a toss of 189'4"...all-region honoree...moved into fourth on the Academy's all-time hammer throw list...tossed 189'9" to place seventh at the Mountain West Conference championships...that mark is a new Freshman Class record...that distance was also a team-high mark...led the team in the shot put...recorded a distance of 47'4¼" at the conference meet to finish eighth...finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 170'11" at the Military Classic...also finished fourth (44'8¾") in the shot put at that meet...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week award three times during the outdoor season...won the hammer throw at the Mesa Classic and Air Force Twilight Invitational...competed in the weight throw during the indoor season...recorded a career-best distance of 52'9½" at the MWC Championships...that mark is a new Freshman Class record.

HIGH SCHOOL: Posted a season-best hammer throw (12-lbs.) of 200'1"...that mark ranked him as the nation's fifth-best high school senior in 2006...also posted a 16-pound hammer distance of 163'10"...that mark was surpassed by only one other high school thrower from the Class of 2006...threw the 25-pound weight 67'3¾" and the 35-pound weight 47'5¼"...both marks are ranked among the leading marks in the country for 2006 indoor season.
