JUNIOR YEAR | 2015-16: NCAA All-American in the pole vault...Mountain West runner-up in that event at both championship meets...debuted on the Academy's all-time standings during the indoor and outdoor seasons...earned second-team All-America status after placing 11th (17'4½") at the NCAA Outdoor Championships...finished eighth at the NCAA West Preliminary (17'3¾") to earn first appearance in the national finals...recorded an outdoor-best clearance of 17'8½" to finish second at the MW Outdoor Championships...that clearance is the eighth-best mark in Academy history...won the pole vault at the Aztec Invitational (16'6") and added top-three finishes at the Sun Angel Classic (second, 16'6¾") and Stanford Invitational (third, 16'0¾")...debuted in seventh on the program's indoor standings with a career-best clearance of 17'9"...used that height to finish second at the MW Indoor Championships...won the pole vault at the Rocky Mountain Classic (16'4¾") and took second at the Air Force Team Challenge (17'0¾")...ranked among the nation's top-20 during the regular season (19th indoors, 17th outdoors)...earned the team's Most Improved Award.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2014-15: Mountain West runner-up in the pole vault at the outdoor championships...two-time all-conference selection...NCAA participant...cleared a career-best 16'11½" to finish second at the conference's outdoor meet...added a top-three finish at the Air Force Twilight Open (third, 16'9½")...tied for third at the MW Indoor Championships (16'0¾"), helping Air Force to a sweep of the top four finishes...cleared a career-best height of 17'0¾" to finish third at the Air Force Team Challenge...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week award following that meet...picked up a pair of first-place finishes during the indoor season, winning the Holiday Inn Invitational (16'1¼") and Rocky Mountain Classic (16'8 ¾").

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2013-14: Helped Air Force to six of the top-eight placements in the pole vault at the Mountain West Indoor Championships...finished eighth at that meet with a clearance of 15'9"...recorded a career-best height of 16'0¾" during a runner-up performance at the Rocky Mountain Classic...added top-10 finishes at the Air Force Holiday Open (15'1", eighth) and Air Force Collegiate Open (15'7", ninth)...earned the team's Newcomer of the Week award following the Collegiate Open...recorded an outdoor-best clearance of 16'0" during a third-place finish at the Beach Invitational...added fourth-place finishes at the Jim Click Shootout (15'7") and Air Force Relays (15'1").

HIGH SCHOOL: Mt. Carmel High School...ranked 10th among U.S. high school seniors in the pole vault as a senior with a clearance of 16'6"...that clearance was ranked first in the state of California...received the team's Outstanding Field Award two years in a row...named Athlete of the Month by the San Diego Union Tribune...recipient of the Arnie Robinson Award and Outstanding Athlete Award for school...two-time Scholar-Athlete honoree.

PERSONAL: Full name is Kyle Michael Pater...nicknames are "KP", "Special K", "Master Pater" and "Kyle 2.0"...son of Paul and Karen Pater...has two younger siblings...majoring in management...future plans include working in acquisitions or contracting...served as Academic Officer...hobbies include skydiving, rock climbing, snowboarding, playing volleyball, disc golf, slack lining, spikeball, jumping on Cale's trampoline, building things in Cale's garage, pretending to be really good at Call of Duty, catching lizards, drinking a 12-pack of Mountain Dew in a single night, buying random things on Amazon, marching, saluting, making doolies greet him on the terrazzo, playing Guitar Hero, break-dancing, doing pull-ups while eating chicken nuggets, Mitches, hanging out with the guys and doing crazy things...also enjoys going to the beach, paddle boarding, bodysurfing and swimming in the ocean...really good at waxing surfboards, but doesn't surf...currently in the Circle of Champions, for the best score in disc golf...also holds the record for longest handstand in Cale's record book...completed the Powered Flight program (and got to solo) over the summer...also participated in Operation Air Force at Peterson AFB, Colo., and served as the Demons' Athletic Officer during Basic Cadet Training...member of Cadet Squadron 19.
