SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2014-15: Mountain West champion in the 10,000-meter run...clocked a MW Championship Meet Record time of 29:49.83 to win the title in collegiate debut at that distance...deleted more than 10 seconds off of the previous record that had stood for 11 years...all-conference honoree...used that time to debut in ninth on the Academy’s all-time list...NCAA participant...also scored for the Falcons in the 5000-meter run, placing eighth with a 14:32.60...registered a career-best time of 14:18.66 to win the Bryan Clay Invitational...that time was a new BCI Meet Record...competed in the 1500-meter run once, finishing second at the Air Force Twilight Open (3:51.41, adjusted for altitude)...ran the leadoff leg of the distance medley relay that recorded the sixth-fastest time in Academy history (9:45.12a) to finish second at the MW Indoor Championships...earned all-conference honors as a member of the DMR...competed in the 3000-meter run during three indoor meets...won the Tyson Invitational with a career-best time of 9:22.73...competed in the mile at the Air Force Team Challenge, finishing third with a time of 4:13.63a...earned the team’s Most Improved award

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2013-14: Competed in five meets...ran the 5000-meter run twice during the outdoor season, posting a career-best time of 15:28.46 (adjusted for altitude) to finish third at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...competed in the 3000-meter run once outdoors, finishing sixth at the Jim Click Shootout in 9:03.78...ran that distance twice during the indoor season...posted a personal-best time of 8:51.93 at the Holiday Inn Invitational...earned a second-place finish at the Air Force All-Comers Meet...also ran the mile at that meet, finishing eighth in 4:26.34a.

MAJOR CROSS COUNTRY HIGHLIGHTS: Captured the program’s first All-America award in 12 years after finishing 28th out of 252 runners at the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships (30:17.30)...also earned all-region and all-conference honors as a junior...was the Falcons’ top finisher at the NCAA Mountain Regional, clocking a career-best 10K time of 29:58.10 to finish third...also placed third at the Mountain West Championships to help Air Force to its first team title since 2003.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lowell Senior High School...placed fifth at the Indiana High School State Cross Country Championships in 2012...conference champion...also won the sectional and regional cross country championship meets...placed 28th at the Footlocker Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships as a senior...finished first in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter races at the conference track and field championships...two-time state qualifier in the 3200-meter run (junior year, senior year)...won high school talent show two years in a row for dancing, the first for a duo and the second for interpretive dance.

PERSONAL: Full name is Kyle Francis Eller...nickname is “Frosh”...son of Dean and Melanie Eller...father retired from the Air Force with the rank of major...has two sisters, Kayla and Maria...also has one brother, Ben, who is currently serving in the Air Force...majoring in management...future plans include becoming an engineer or the head coach of the Cleveland Browns...served as Bravo Flight NCO and Academic NCO...hobbies include eagle riding, eating Fiber One bars, getting free samples at Costco, interpretive dancing and glass blowing...dabbles in fashioning gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...touched Seth Avett’s beard on July 8, 2015, to check another task off of his bucket list...member of Cadet Squadron 14.
