HIGH SCHOOL: Saint Pius X High School...four-year letterwinner...two-time all-state selection...four-time all-district honoree...four-time medalist at the New Mexico 5A Track and Field Championships...finished second in the 400-meter dash at the state championships during junior year...two-time state champion in the sprint medley relay (400-meter leg)...added runner-up finishes at the state championships in the 4x400-meter relay (freshman year) and sprint medley relay (senior year)...also lettered four years in cross country and three years in basketball...volunteered at a local food bank...spent summers volunteering at children’s skills camps for track and basketball.

PERSONAL: Full name is Kelsey Jordan Owens...nickname is “Kels”...daughter of Darren and Jamie Owens...has one older sister and one younger brother...majoring in biology...future plans include becoming a pilot or flight doctor...attended the Academy’s Prep School...held several leadership positions, including squadron academic officer, flight commander and squadron commander...recorded the highest GPA in squadron, earning a T-53 flight with the Dean...hobbies include camping, hiking and fishing...uncle, Kirk Juneau, and grandfather, Leon Owens, both served in the Navy and retired as a Petty Officer, First Class...has three uncles that played professional sports – Ted Owens played baseball for the Seattle Pilots, Marv Owens played football for the St. Louis Cardinals and Brig Owens is a member of the Washington Redskins’ Ring of Honor and NFL Players Association Hall of Fame...member of Cadet Squadron 24.
