SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2016-17: Ran on the shuttle hurdles relay that clocked the third-fastest time in program history (57.13) during a runner-up performance at the Drake Relays...competed in the 110-meter hurdles during five meets...clocked a career-best time of 14.56 at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (third)...ranked third on the team in 2017...added a top-five finish in that event at the Johnson/Joyner Kersee Invitational (14.92)...ran the 400-meter hurdles four times, posting a personal-best time of 56.12 at UCLA...competed in the 60-meter hurdles during five indoor meets...clocked a personal-best time of 8.22 to finish third at the New Mexico Team Invitational...that time was ranked third on the team...also collected a top-five finish at the Air Force Team Challenge (fourth, 8.24).

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2015-16: Did not compete on the track and field team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Langham Creek High School...ranked 12th in the nation as a sophomore, with a 110-meter hurdles time of 13.9...two-time district champion...earned Texas 6A first-team all-state honors

PERSONAL: Son of David and Stephanie Batista...has two older brothers...majoring in operations research...served as First Sergeant...hobbies include hammocking and searching in the stars...traveled to Qatar as a part of the Academy’s Deployed Ops program over the summer...also worked Basic Cadet Training...member of Cadet Squadron 12.
