FRESHMAN YEAR | 2014-15: Competed in the 1500-meter run during three outdoor meets...clocked a personal-best time of 5:00.67 (adjusted for altitude) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...ran the mile once during the indoor season, clocking 5:24.37a at the Air Force Invitational...academic all-conference selection...MW Scholar-Athlete.

MAJOR CROSS COUNTRY HIGHLIGHTS: Helped Air Force to program-best finishes at the Mountain West Championship (second) and NCAA Mountain Regional (third) in 2016...also helped the Falcons to the Academy’s first appearance at the NCAA Division I Championships and the first USTFCCCA ranking in school history.

HIGH SCHOOL: Carroll Senior High School...two-time Team 5A state champion (2012, 2013)...Team Nike National runner-up (2012)...named Female Athlete of the Year (2013-14)...also named Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2013-14)...placed among the top-25 at the Texas 5A Cross Country Championships on two occasions (2013: 18th, 2012: 24th)...National Merit finalist...AP Scholar, with Distinction...ranked sixth in graduating class.

PERSONAL: Full name is Katherine Lee Burnham...goes by Katie...daughter of David and Marilyn Burnham...both parents competed on the cross country and track teams at Bowdoin College...has one older sister, two younger sisters and two younger brothers...majoring in mathematics...served as B-1 Element Leader and Group 1 PEER NCO...named to the Superintendent’s List for excellence in military, academic and athletic performance...hobbies include reading, writing, cooking and playing the piano...received Jump Wings in the summer of 2015...served as cadre during Expeditionary Survival and Evasion Training (ESET) over the summer...also completed Operation Air Force at Moody AFB, Ga., and visited family in New England ...member of Cadet Squadron 03.
