JUNIOR YEAR | 2016-17: Competed in the high jump, long jump and triple jump during indoor season...posted career-best marks in the long jump (22’6¼”) and triple jump (45’8½”) to win both events at the Air Force Collegiate Open...those were the best distances on the team in 2017...recorded a career-best high jump clearance of 6’6¾” at the Air Force Team Challenge...ranked second the team in the long jump during the outdoor season...posted an outdoor-best mark of 22’3½” to take second at the Air Force Twilight Open...earned a runner-up finish in the high jump at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (outdoor-best 6’5”).

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2015-16: Competed in the long jump during four indoor meets...posted a career-best distance of 22’1¾” to finish fourth at the Air Force Team Challenge...that clearance was ranked second on the team...also placed within the top five at the Rocky Mountain Classic (second, 21’8”) and Adams State Qualifier (fifth, 21’3¼”)...competed in that event once outdoors...recorded a mark of 21’9” to finish third at the Air Force Twilight Open.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2014-15: Did not compete for the track and field team.

HIGH SCHOOL: West Albany High School...four-year letterwinner in track...set the school record in the high jump (6’8”)...also recorded a conference record in the 100-meter dash (11.02)...lettered three years in football...served as captain of the team that won the state championship...named Offensive Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons...earned all-state and all-conference honors twice...named Gatorade Football Player of the Year for the state of Oregon...named Oregon Prep Athlete of the Year.

PERSONAL: Full first name is Jacob, but goes by Jake...son of Joe and Joene LaCoste...father played football at Oregon State...has three brothers...older brother, Anthony, is a 2014 Academy graduate and former member of the Air Force football team, while older brother, Jarrett, is a member of the Oregon football team...majoring in management...future plans include working in nuclear missile operations...served as Standardization and Evaluation Clerk for squadron...member of the Air Force football team...served as a counselor during Falcon Sports Camps over the summer...also served as a Safety Medical Officer during the second session of Basic Cadet Training...member of Cadet Squadron 35.
