75 cadet-athletes earn Mountain West all-academic honors

The 75 honorees is the third most since the Falcons joined the MW in 1999-2000

Personal-Best Marks – Long Jump: 21’11½” | Triple Jump: 44’3½”

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2016-17: Competed in the long jump and triple jump during nine meets (six indoor, three outdoor)...recorded career-best distances to finish second in both events at the Air Force Collegiate Open (long jump: 21’11½”, triple jump: 44’3½”)...earned top-three finishes in collegiate debut, finishing second in the triple jump (42’5¼”) and third in the long jump (20’6½”)...recorded an outdoor-best distance in the long jump (21’8”) at the Colorado Invitational...posted an outdoor-best mark of 42’2¼” to place fourth in the triple jump at the Jerry Quiller Classic...ranked third on the team in both events...academic all-conference selection.

HIGH SCHOOL: Joseph City High School...finished second in the triple jump at the state championships...also earned a third-place finish in the long jump at that meet...also competed in football and basketball...served as team captain for all three sports...member of the Student Body and National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Son of Bryan and Julie Fields...father played basketball at Eastern Arizona College and New Mexico Highlands, while mother played volleyball and basketball at Eastern Arizona College...has five siblings...majoring in systems engineering - aerospace...future plans include becoming a pilot...hobbies include basketball...fluent in Portuguese...several members of extended family served in the military...completed the Soaring program and Expeditionary Survival and Evasion Training (ESET) over the summer...member of Cadet Squadron 15.
