FRESHMAN YEAR | 2015-16: Shared the team's Newcomer of the Year award...set Freshman Class Records in the 3000- and 5000-meter events...all-conference honoree...broke the program's 24-year-old Class Record in the 3000-meter run after clocking a time of 8:18.47 at the Husky Classic...improved the Class Record at 5000 meters twice during the outdoor season...first broke the freshman standard during a fifth-place performance (14:15.24) at the Stanford Invitational...lowered that time to 14:07.05 at the Drake Relays (sixth)...scored for the Falcons in that event at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships (fifth, 14:15.36)...competed in the 1500-meter run once, posting a time of 3:48.85 to win the Michael Johnson Classic...earned all-conference honors as a member of the distance medley relay that placed third at the MW Indoor Championships...ran the mile once during the indoor season, finishing second (4:09.67, adjusted for altitude) at the Air Force Team Challenge.

MAJOR CROSS COUNTRY HIGHLIGHTS: Earned first-team all-conference honors after finishing fifth at the 2016 Mountain West Championships...registered the team's fastest 8K (24:12.6) in 2016.

HIGH SCHOOL: El Diamante High School...four-year varsity letterwinner in track and cross country...named Visalia Times Delta Runner of the Year three times...three-time West Yosemite League champion in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter events...two-time Central Area champion in those distances...2015 CIF state qualifier in track...three-time CIF state qualifier in cross country...finished sixth at the 2014 championships in a time of 15:18...member of the Amateur Ultimate Frisbee Club all-city team...received the Visalia Unified School District's Overall Achievement Award...lifetime member of the California Scholarship Federation.

PERSONAL: Son of Michael and Teresa McDaniels...mother ran cross country at CSU Stanislaus...nickname is "Chapo"...has one older sister, Mikaela, who is the Special Olympics swimming and track champion for Tulare County...also, has two younger siblings, Jared (Visalia's undefeated, fourth-grade champion at 800 meters) and Rylee (a future track star)...majoring in management...future plans include building rockets and "saving the world from terrorists"...served as Antiterrorism/Force Protection Clerk...hobbies include hanging out with friends and family, playing video games, sports, not reading, procrastinating, riding quads and snapchatting...would like to add that he "tutors Mickey Davey and Preston Roche on their academic needs, takes life and financial advice from Josh Wojciechowski, serves as Tweedle's nutritionist and taught Andy Johnston how to play American sports"...would like to earn a spot as an honorary "Mid D" and be on the DMR again...is becoming a Physics 215 savant with Zac Petrie...tries his best to abide by Coach Cole's "Banned Substances List", which includes, but is not limited to, FrootLoops, Ice Cream and "anything that tastes good"...completed Expeditionary Survival and Evasion Training (ESET) and soaring over the summer...also went home to California on leave...grandfather, Steve Bilvado, served in the Air Force...member of Cadet Squadron 09.
