JUNIOR YEAR | 2016-17: Competed in the shot put during 12 meets (seven indoor, five outdoor)...registered a career-best distance of 53’1” to place seventh at the New Mexico Team Invitational...finished within the top-five at the Air Force Holiday Open (second, 52’10¼”) and Air Force Collegiate Open (fourth, 50’9”)...recorded an outdoor-best mark of 50’7½” at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...earned a top-five finish in that event at the Air Force Twilight Open (fourth, 50’4¼”)...competed in the discus throw during six outdoor meets...registered a season-best toss of 163’0” at the Aztec Invitational...ranked second on the team with that throw...finished within the top-five at the Twilight Open (third, 161’1”) and Jack Christiansen Invitational (160’1”).

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2015-16: Did not compete.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2014-15: Competed in the discus throw and shot put during five outdoor meets...recorded a personal-best throw of 163’10” in the discus at the Rock Chalk Classic...that mark was ranked second on the team...won the discus at the New Mexico Quadrangular (154’11”)...also ranked second on the team in the shot put...recorded a mark of 51’9¼” to finish third at the Air Force Twilight Open...participated in the hammer throw three times, posting a personal-best mark of 137’3” at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...competed in the shot put during three indoor meets...registered a career-best toss of 49’5” at the Air Force Collegiate Open.

HIGH SCHOOL: Discovery Canyon High School...four-time Colorado 4A state champion...claimed 2013 titles in the shot put (52’9¾”) and discus throw (159’9”)...tore ACL in November 2013, but came back in time to repeat both titles in 2014 (shot put, 58’9½”; discus throw, 181’5”)...finished first in the shot put and discus throw at the 2013 Colorado USATF Junior Olympic Championships...also earned fourth-place finishes in both events at the 2012 meet...placed second in the discus and fourth in the shot put at the USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships...also competed in football and wrestling...earned all-conference (PPAC) first-team on two occasions...named PPAC Offensive Lineman of the Year (2012-13)...selected to the Gazette’s all-area team...state qualifier in wrestling (2012)...earned an academic letter all eight semesters.

PERSONAL: Full name is Jackson Thomas Spalding...son of Daniel and Nancy Spalding...has older twin sisters...majoring in operations research...served as Group 3 Standardization/Evaluation Officer...also served as the Flying Tigers Squadron Stan/Eval Officer during Basic Cadet Training...hobbies include collecting animal shirts...has an animal shirt to wear for each day of the month...member of Cadet Squadron 28.
