JUNIOR YEAR | 2014-15: Named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the second straight year...earned CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District honors...voted as the team’s Most Outstanding Competitor for the second consecutive season...also received the team’s High Scorer award...three-time Mountain West champion...three-time all-conference selection...became the program’s first outdoor conference champion in the shot put and discus throw...also became the first Air Force thrower to break the 60-foot mark in the indoor shot put...tossed a career-best 60’4” to win first MW title and break his own Academy record...that mark is also a new Junior Class Record...reset Academy record twice during the indoor season...opened the season with a (then) personal-best throw of 59’5½” during a winning performance at the Air Force Holiday Open...also claimed first-place honors in the shot put at the Air Force Collegiate Open (57’7¾”) and Rocky Mountain Classic (59’0”)...recorded top-three finishes during seven of eight indoor meets...recorded the second-best discus throw in Academy history (183’1”) to finish third in the collegiate standings of the Rock Chalk Classic...that was a personal improvement of more than 10 feet...became just the fourth thrower in Academy history to better 180 feet in the discus...named the MW Athlete of the Week following that meet...registered a season-best shot put of 60’3¾” – a mark just shy of own Academy record – to win the Beach Invitational...finished second in that event (57’11¾”) at the Texas Invitational...earned four additional top-five finishes during the outdoor regular season...won the discus (179’4”) and shot put (59’2¼”) at the MW Outdoor Championships...qualified to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the shot put and discus throw...placed within the top half of the field (shot put: 23rd, discus: 24th) at the NCAA West Preliminary...named the Air Force Athlete of the Week on three occasions...earned the team’s Field Athlete of the Week award twice...academic all-conference selection.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2013-14: Earned the team’s Most Outstanding Competitor Award...also shared the team’s High Point Award...participated in the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (West Preliminary)...broke 13-year-old Academy records in that event during both the indoor and outdoor seasons...two-time all-conference honoree...recorded an Academy-record throw of 60'8" to take second at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships...that mark is a new Sophomore Class Record...first broke the program’s 15-year-old Class Record with an Academy-best indoor throw of 58'11¼" at the Air Force Collegiate Open...named the Air Force Athlete of the Week following that meet...won the shot put at the Air Force Holiday Open (54'10¼")...tossed a 58'2½" to finish second at the MW Indoor Championships...claimed additional second-place finishes at the Rocky Mountain Classic and Air Force Team Challenge...competed in the weight throw once, finishing second at the Holiday Open (53'8¼")...became the first Air Force thrower to surpass the 60-foot mark in the shot put (60'8" outdoors)...that distance was ranked 41st in the nation at the end of the regular season...won the shot put at the Air Force Twilight Open (58'1¼") and finished second at the Jim Click Shootout (then career-best 59'10½")...finished 19th at the NCAA Championships (West Preliminary) with a toss of 57'2¾"...also scored for the Falcons in the discus throw at the MW Championships, finishing sixth with a career-best distance of 171'11"...added top-three finishes in the discus at the Jim Click Shootout and Air Force Twilight Open...earned the team’s Field Athlete of the Week award four times...academic all-conference selection...named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2012-13: Earned the program’s Newcomer of the Year award...set Freshman Class Records in both the shot put and discus throw...claimed all-conference honors in the shot put after placing second at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships...recorded a career-best distance of 57'1½" at that meet to move into second on the program’s all-time list and reset the Freshman Class Record...first broke the shot put Class Record at the Beach Invitational (56'1"), adding two feet to a mark that had stood for 36 years...NCAA West Preliminary participant in that event (53'1", 39th)...broke the program’s Freshman Class Record in the discus throw on two occasions...bettered a record that had stood for 22 years during a runner-up performance at the Air Force Triangular (170'2")...improved career distance to 171'3" at the Jack Christiansen Invitational two weeks later...scored for the Falcons in that event at the conference meet, placing seventh with a distance of 165'8"...also competed in the hammer throw during three meets, recording a personal-best distance of 147'6" at the Jerry Quiller Classic...competed in both the shot put and weight throw at the MW Indoor Championships...ranked second on the team in the shot put with a personal-best distance of 53'8½" at the Air Force Team Challenge...recorded a career-best distance of 54'3¼" in the weight throw at the Joe Davies Open...earned "Standout" distinction from the team on four occasions...academic all-conference selection.

HIGH SCHOOL: Idabel High School…two-time 4A state champion in the discus throw…holds the IHS record in that event…four-time regional champion in the discus throw…won the discus title at the 2011 Oklahoma Meet of Champions…two-time regional champion in the shot put…seven-time medalist at the state track and field championships…member of the 2009 team that placed second at the 4A state meet…named team MVP as a junior…also earned the team’s Freshman of the Year award…also competed in football…3A-8 Co-Defensive Player of the Year…named 3A all-state defensive end by the Daily Oklahoman…earned the team’s Defensive Player of the Year award as a junior and senior…three-year member of the National Honor Society…three-time member of the State Honor Society…earned academic all-state honors as a junior and senior…National Merit Commended Scholar…graduated first in senior class.

PERSONAL: Full name is Grant Augustus Hamilton…son of Walter and Dianna Hamilton…both parents competed in athletics at Oklahoma Christian (father-track and field; mother-basketball)…has two older sisters…Katie was a track and field letterwinner at Oklahoma State and Rozlyn lettered in both basketball and track and field at Oklahoma Christian…majoring in American History...future plans include becoming a pilot...currently serving as Squadron Commander (Fall 2015)...represented the Academy at the Mountain West Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in-person meetings in 2015...named to the Superintendent’s List for excellence in military, academic and athletic performance on two occasions…hobbies include studying American and Military History, playing guitar, going two-stepping with friends, chapel activities, anything outdoors, all sports, trying new food, reading, listening to music and going to concerts...completed the Powered Flight Program (“I learned the basics of flying planes and flew 10 sorties”) and traveled home to Oklahoma over the summer...also served as Flight Commander for the Barbarians Charlie Flight during the second session of Basic Cadet Training (“I was responsible for leading and developing a staff of five upperclassmen in training 25 Basic Cadets in preparation for their acceptance into the Cadet Wing”)…grandfather, Jimmie Hutton, served in the Marine Corps…member of Cadet Squadron 08.
