    Track and Field Places 39 on Academic All-Conference List

    Paige Blackburn, Katie Carroll and Kimber Shealy claimed their fourth straight academic all-MW honors.

    FRESHMAN (2012): Competed in the 800-meter run four times during the outdoor season...recorded a career-best time of 2:15.08 at the Beach Invitational...that time was ranked third on the team...finished second at that distance at the Front Range Classic (2:17.24, adjusted for altitude)...participated in the 1500-meter run at the Colorado Invitational (4:45.46a)...ran on the 4x800-meter relay (9:14.04) and the distance medley relay (11:50.86) that clocked the second-fastest times in Academy history at the Drake Relays...also ran on the 4x800-meter team that won the Air Force Relays...also competed in the 800-meter run during two indoor meets...clocked a season-best time of 2:21.63a at the Air Force Invitational...academic all-conference selection.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Archbishop Alter High School...member of three state championship teams (2007 cross country, 2009 4x800-meter relay, 2011 4x800-meter relay)...four-time state qualifier in the 800-meter run...placed within the top-10 at the state meet all four years (fourth in 2009, seventh in 2010, eighth in 2008 and ninth in 2011)...served as co-captain of the 2010 cross country team...earned academic all-Ohio recognition for cross country...also earned academic all-state honors in track...two-time recipient of the Coaches' Award for cross country...earned the 2011 Coaches' Award for track...class valedictorian...received numerous department awards...received Scholar-Athlete honors from the Girls Greater Cincinnati League...AP Scholar.
