HIGH SCHOOL: Two-time state champion in the 1600-meter run...state champion in the 3200-meter run as a senior...ran cross country for Woodland Park High School...three-time place-winner at the Colorado state cross country championships...finished fourth as a senior...won the Joe Vigil Invitational by over one minute at start of senior year...three-year team captain... four-time place-winner in the 1600-meter run and 3200-meter run at the state championships...finished third in the 800-meter run at the state meet...competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals...finished sixth in the 1500-meter run, seventh in the 5000-meter run and 11th in the 3000-meter run...served as captain of track team all four years...also played basketball...earned all-conference (honorable mention) honors as a junior...served as team captain during junior year...served as class president as a freshman, sophomore and junior...served as student body president during senior year...member of the National Honor Society...earned National Merit for High School Scholars...served as secretary of the Key Club...El Pomar Youth in Community Service member...served as president of the Voices of Youth in Colorado Education...Pikes Peak Rotary Champion Medallion winner for track and cross country.
