SAC Relays...became just the fourth Falcon to break the 14-minute mark at that distance...also moved into fourth in the 10,000-meter record book with a time of 29:30.90 at the Stanford Invitational...became only the seventh Falcon to break the 30-minute mark in that event...that mark is a Sophomore Class Record...clocked the fourth-fastest indoor 5000-meter time in Academy history at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships...crossed the finish line in 14:01.72 (adjusted for altitude) to finish fourth...that time was a 40-second personal improvement...competed in the national semifinals of the outdoor 5000-meter run...finished 30th at the NCAA West Preliminary with a time of 14:12.09...finished fifth in the 10,000-meter run at the MWC Outdoor Championships with a time of 31:56.31a...ran a leg of the distance medley relay team that finished fifth (9:44.64) at the Drake Relays...also scored for the Falcons in the 3000-meter run at the MWC Indoor Championships ...placed fifth with a personal-best time of 8:14.31a ...won the 3000-meter run (8:24.44) during the indoor season at the Nebraska adidas Classic...ran on the distance medley relay team that won the Air Force All-Comers Meet (8:11.57)...also competed in the mile at the All-Comers Meet, placing fifth in a career-best 4:16.61a...earned the team's Track Athlete of the Week award twice during the outdoor season...USTFCCCA All-Academic selection...academic all-conference selection...MWC Scholar-Athlete. FRESHMAN (2010): Placed fifth in the 10,000-meter run at the Mountain West Conference Championships with a career-best time of 32:53.97...also finished seventh in the 5000-meter run at that meet (15:07.15)...recorded a career-best time of 14:38.15 in that distance at the Mt. SAC Relays...finished sixth in the 5000-meter run at the Military Championships with a time of 14:57.62...also competed in the 1500-meter run, clocking a time of 4:07.85 at the Mason Spring Open...placed third in the 3000-meter run at the Front Range Classic (8:52.28)...competed in the mile, 3000-meter and 5000-meter distances during the indoor season...placed fourth in the 3000-meter run at the New Mexico Classic with a career-best 8:40.77...ran 14:44.83 (adjusted for altitude) in the 5000-meter run at the MWC Championships...ran a 4:33.94a in the mile at the Air Force All-Comers meet...named the team's Track Athlete of the Week once during the indoor season...academic all-conference selection...MWC Scholar-Athlete. HIGH SCHOOL: Wayzata High School...coached by Bill Miles...three-time all-state selection...finished 10th at the Minnesota AA cross country championships as a senior...finished 12th in that meet as a junior...member of two cross country state championship teams that qualified for Nike Team and Nike Cross Nationals as a junior and senior, respectively...state champion in the 3200-meter run as a senior...finished seventh in the 1600-meter run that year...clocked a personal-best time of 4:21.4 in the 1600 meters...four-time academic all-state selection. PERSONAL: Son of Theron Drenckhahn and Peggy Farah...nickname is "Gumdrop"...father retired from the Air Force with the rank of major after serving as a C-130 navigator...has one older brother, Nathan, who is a first lieutenant in the Air Force and currently flying KC-10s...also has one younger sister, Melissa...majoring in biology/pre-med...future plans include becoming a pilot or doctor or both...hails from the number one city in America to live, as reported by CNN Money magazine...hobbies include playing hockey and sleeping...earned all-conference honors with a runner-up finish at the 2011 Mountain West Cross Country Championships...has been named the Mountain West Cross Country Athlete of the Week twice (2009, 2011)...member of Cadet Squadron 08. |
