Discus Throw, Hammer Throw

JUNIOR (2008): Set Academy record in the weight throw (60'2½") at the Air Force Invitational...broke a record that had stood for 16 years with that throw...that mark is a new Junior Class record...finished fifth in the weight throw at the Mountain West Conference Championships...tossed a distance of 59'5½" at that meet...missed the majority of the outdoor season after breaking leg during a skydiving accident...did compete in the discus throw and hammer throw prior to injury...recorded a throw of 176'2" at the Arizona State Invitational...that was the second-best toss of the season...also recorded a season-best 153'8" in the discus throw at that meet...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week award twice during the indoor season.

SOPHOMORE (2007): Shared the team's Laura Piper Ironman Award...set Sophomore Class records in the weight throw (59'4"), discus throw (176'6") and hammer throw (186'9")...weight throw record is the second-best in Academy history, while the discus throw is fifth and the hammer throw is eighth...finished fourth in the discus at the Mountain West Conference championships...NCAA Regional Qualifier in the discus and hammer throws... was one of three Falcons to take the top spots in the hammer at the Mesa Classic, finishing second with a throw of 177'4"...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week on two occasions during the outdoor season and three times during the outdoor season...claimed three-first place finishes on the year, including a pair of victories (discus, hammer) at the Military Classic to help the Falcons' win the team title...set Military Classic records in both events at that meet.

FRESHMAN (2006): Set a new Freshman Class record in the weight throw with a toss of 47'1½" at the Air Force Invitational...also set a Freshman Class record in the hammer throw (162'1") at the Don Kirby Invitational...competed in the shot put during the indoor season...recorded a career-best shot of 47'2¼" at the Albuquerque Invitational...posted the third best distances on the team during the outdoor season in the discus and hammer throws...recorded a career-best discus distance of 151'0" at the Mountain West Conference championships

HIGH SCHOOL: County champion for the discus and shot put as a junior and senior...earned all-state honors as a junior...was the runner-up in the discus at the Pennsylvania state meet as a junior...earned the Outstanding School Citizen award...earned the Outstanding Male Athlete award...member of the National Honor Society...member of the Ski Club.

PERSONAL: Son of James and Deborah Devine...has one brother Eric...majoring in aeronautical systems engineering...would like to attend pilot training following graduation...named to the Dean's List...earned the Outstanding Group 1 Performer award for October 2005...hobbies include snowboarding...academic all-conference selection.
