    Team captain...

    JUNIOR (2011): Set Academy record in the 400-meter hurdles...clocked program standard of 61.39 during the qualifying heat of the Mountain West Conference Championships...broke the hurdles record three times in less than one month...improved time by 2.54 seconds during that span...first broke Academy record at the Beach Invitational...clocked a time of 62.30 to finish 10th in a field of 51....improved time to 61.62 during a second-place finish at the Front Range Classic...scored for the Falcons in that event with a seventh-place finish at the conference meet (62.33)...also ran the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed sixth at the MWC Championships with the fourth-best time in Academy history (3:50.89)...also ran a leg of the teams that won the Jack Christiansen Invitational and finished second at the Front Range Classic...earned the team's Track Athlete of the Week award on three occasions during the outdoor season...ranked second on the team in the 400-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles during the indoor season...clocked a career-best 59.09 in the 400-meter race at the conference championships...clocked a season-best time of 9.53 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Air Force All-Comers Meet...ran a leg of the distance medley relay team that finished eighth (12:12.44, adjusted for altitude) at the MWC Indoor Championships...also ran on the season-best 4x400-meter relay squad (4:00.34) that finished second at the Air Force All-Comers Meet...received the team's Most Improved Award.

    SOPHOMORE (2010): Recorded a career-best 400-meter hurdles time of 63.93 at the Colorado Invitational to debut in seventh on the program's all-time list...that was a team-leading finish...placed fourth in that event at the Military Championships with a time of 66.84...also ran the 100-meter hurdles during the outdoor season...clocked a career-best time of 16.30 at the Mason Spring Open...ran a leg of the indoor 4x400-meter relay team that posted the fifth-fastest time (3:54.82) in Academy history...improved career-time in the 60-meter dash to 9.40 (converted from a 55-meter course) at the Robert Shine Invitational...ran the 400-meter dash in a season-best 59.58 at the Air Force Invitational...earned the team's Track Athlete of the Week award once during the indoor season.

    FRESHMAN (2009): Clocked a season-best time of 68.25 in the 400-meter hurdles at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...competed in the 60-meter hurdles...recorded a season-best 10.13 at the Don Barrett Duals...also ran the 400-meter dash during the indoor season...posted a season-best 62.09 (converted for track size) at the Robert Shine Invitational.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Cedaredge High School...placed third in the 300-meter hurdles at the 2008 Colorado 3A state championships...clocked a seasonal-best time of 47.24 at that meet...all-state selection...served as team captain...eight-time state player in track... also a member of the volleyball team...all-conference selection...team captain...served as Student Council president...graduated with a 3.86 GPA.

    PERSONAL: Daughter of Mark and Terri Cotharn...has two older brothers, Boyce and James..."I have the cutest nephew in the whole world, Boyce Jr." (three years old)...nickname is "Em"...majoring in management...future plans include becoming a pilot...three-time selection to the Athletic Director's List...served as Element Leader, BCT Flight Commander, Assistant Director of Operations and Element NCO...named "Knight of the Month" for CS-30...spent the summer working as Element Leader during Summer Seminar...also served as Flight Commander during the first session of Basic Cadet Training...hobbies include reading, shopping, snowboarding and spending time with family...would like to "thank my family for supporting me.
