JUNIOR (2008): Received the team's Most Improved Award...NCAA Regional Qualifier...clocked the fifth-best 1500-meter outdoor time in Academy history...registered a time of 3:45.40 at the Colorado Invitational for that distinction...picked up a sixth-place finish in the 1500-meter run at the Mountain West Conference Championships with a time of 3:50.36...won the 1500 at the first-ever Front Range Invitational......paced the squad with a time of 4:10.31 in the mile at the Big 12/MWC Championships...finished fourth in that event at the conference's indoor meet...clocked a time of 4:24.28 in that meet...also competed in the 800-meter event, clocking a season-best 1:56.30 (adjusted for altitude) at the Air Force Invitational...earned the team's Track Athlete of the Week award once during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

SOPHOMORE (2007): Competed in the mile and 3000-meter events during the indoor season...posted a mile time of 4:22.87 (adjusted for altitude) at the TCR Race Productions Invitational...also recorded a personal-best 3000-meter run time of 8:52.67a at that meet...recorded the team's second-best 1500-meter time during the outdoor season... finished seventh in that event (3:52.85) at the Mountain West Conference championships...also competed in the 5000-meter run, clocking a season-best time of 15:14.98 at the conference meet.

FRESHMAN (2006): One of four competitors in the steeplechase, recording a career-best time of 10:26.88a at the Jack Christiansen Invitational...posted a 4:04.09a in the 1500-meter run at the Don Kirby Invitational...clocked a season-best time of 4:26.51a in the indoor mile at the Albuquerque Invitational...also recorded a time of 9:36.55a in the 3000-meter run at the Air Force All-Comers Meet.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-time state champion in the 1600-meter run...class valedictorian...Wendy's High School Heisman winner for the state of Missouri...STUCO chaplain...leader of the Chapel Band...member of the school show choir... Missouri Junior Academy of Science winner.

PERSONAL: Son of Douglas and Donna Castle...father is a colonel in the U.S. Army... has one older brother, Zach (25), who is a first lieutenant Army ranger and a 2006 graduate of West Point...has an older sister, Rebecca (27)...majoring in English, while obtaining a minor in Spanish...plans on attending pilot training following graduation and becoming an A-10 pilot...served as Wing Operations NCO, Squadron Operations NCO and First Sergeant...unique in the fact that one eye is blue and the other is green... hobbies include playing the guitar and ukulele, writing and reading...two-time academic all-conference selection...member of the Air Force cross country team...twice named MWC Scholar-Athlete for cross country and track...member of the 2009 track and field leadership council.
