    Falcons Conclude Action at All-Comers Meet

    Joey Uhle won the pole vault with the seventh-best clearance in Academy history.

    JUNIOR (2012): Recorded the third-highest pole vault clearance in Academy history during the outdoor season...posted a height of 12'11½" to finish second at the Front Range Classic...that mark is a Junior Class Record...won the outdoor pole vault at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (12'4¾") and at the Air Force Relays (12'7½")...cleared 12'3½" to finish fifth at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships...cleared the 12-foot bar in six of eight outdoor competitions...scored for the Falcons at the indoor conference meet, placing seventh with a season-best matching mark of 12'3½"...also cleared that mark to finish fourth at the Robert Shine Invitational...won the Air Force Invitational with a height of 12'1½".

    SOPHOMORE (2011): Recorded the fifth-best pole vault clearances in Academy history during both the indoor and outdoor seasons...cleared 12'6¾" at the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational to move into fifth on the outdoor list...finished fourth in the pole vault at that meet...recorded a height of 12'½" at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships to move into fifth on the indoor list...won the pole vault during the outdoor season at the Front Range Classic (11'11¾")...also won that event at the CSU-Pueblo Invitational (11'9¾")...claimed top-10 finishes in five additional meets...recorded an indoor best finish of third at the Robert Shine Invitational (11'6¼")...competed in the 60-meter dash (8.40), 200-meter dash (27.23) and long jump (15'7") at the Don Barrett Duals...long jump mark was ranked second on the team...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week award once during the outdoor season.

    FRESHMAN (2010): Became the seventh Falcon to clear the 12-foot bar during the indoor season...cleared 12'1½" at the New Mexico Classic...moved into sixth on the program's all-time list...also moved into sixth on the program's all-time outdoor list with a career-best height of 11'9"...recorded that mark at the Beach Invitational...finished second at the Military Championships with a clearance of 11'5¾"...also finished as the runner-up at the Colorado Invitational with a clearance of 11'3¾"...also claimed top-five finishes at the Tom Benich Classic (outdoor) and Air Force All-Comers Meet (indoor)...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week once during the indoor season.

    HIGH SCHOOL: William Fremd High School...placed third in the pole vault at the Illinois 3A state championship meet as a senior...school record-holder in the pole vault (11'7") and 200-meter dash (25.2)...served as team captain during both junior and senior years...two-time recipient of the Most Outstanding Track and Field Athlete award (junior and senior years)...earned the Illinois High School Association MSL All-Academic Award...also received the All-Academic Senior Athlete Award...placed fourth against all male competition at the Illinois Prep Top Times Decathlon State Championship...AP Scholar...High Honor Roll...three-year member of the National Honor Society...voted Attorney General at Illini Girls State and went on to represent Illinois at Girls Nation during the summer of 2008.

    PERSONAL: Full first name is Elisabeth, but goes by Bizzy...daughter of Jim and Leanne Mellado...has one older sister, Ester...also has one younger brother, Davy, who is a freshman at Judson College (Illinois) on a track and field scholarship...majoring in political science, with a focus of Latin America...future plans include becoming a personnel officer...served as Squadron Superintendent, Athletic NCO and Athletic Officer...also served as Assistant Cadet-In-Charge to CBRNE Course during Basic Cadet Training...part of the vocal jazz group, as well as the cadet worship team...loves to volunteer and serve at Woodman Valley Chapel...hobbies include crocheting, singing and drinking tea...favorite verse is "Be anxious for nothing" - The Apostle Paul ...worked as cadre during the first and second sessions of Basic Cadet Training...also "watched my awesome younger brother graduate from high school"...grandfather is a veteran of the Korean War...member of Cadet Squadron 21.
