    Team captain...returns to the team after receiving a medical redshirt in 2010.

    JUNIOR (2009): Cleared a team-leading 12'11¾" at the season-opening Air Force All-Comers Meet...set a Junior Class record with that clearance...named the team's Field Athlete of the Week following that meet...recorded a provisional qualifying mark to the NCAA Indoor Championships with that height...cleared 12'5½" to finish sixth at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships...won the Don Barrett Duals with a clearance of 12'8¼"...placed fifth at the Pole Vault Summit (12'5½") and at the Air Force Invitational (11'11¾")...did not compete during the outdoor season...served on the team's leadership council.

    SOPHOMORE (2008): Earned the team's Outstanding Competitor award...was also awarded the Gail Conway Performance Award...Academy record holder in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault...participant at the NCAA Indoor Championships...posted the eighth-best height in the nation during the regular indoor season...set Sophomore Class record with a career-best, Academy-record clearance of 13'6½" at the Mountain West Conference Championships...earned all-conference honors behind a second-place finish at that meet...the bar of 13'6½" is the fourth-best clearance ever at the MWC Championships...it is also the fourth-best mark in conference history...NCAA provisional qualifier...rewrote the program standard three times...became the first woman in Academy history to clear the 13-foot plateau...won the pole vault at the All-Comers Meet, Air Force Invitational and Don Barrett Open during the indoor season...NCAA Regional Qualifier...cleared 13'1½" to set the Academy's outdoor record at the Colorado Invitational...finished within the top six at the outdoor conference championships...earned first regional qualifying mark during the second meet of the outdoor season...won the pole vault at the inaugural Front Range Invitational...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week award twice during the indoor season and once during the outdoor season.

    FRESHMAN (2007): Earned co-Newcomer of the Year honors...set Freshman Class and Academy records in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault...NCAA regional qualifier...broke Academy record twice during the outdoor season...cleared a career-best 12'9½" at the Wyoming Invitational to break own record and win the event...won the event at the Military Classic with a then-record 12'5¾"...earned Field Event Athlete of the Week honors twice during the outdoor season...rewrote the indoor pole vault record twice at the Air Force Open...set a mark of 12'0¾", before winning the event with a mark of 12'4¾"...won two Field Event Athlete of the Week honors...also won the pole vault at the Air Force All-Comers Meet, Rob Upton Invitational and the Air Force Twilight Invitational.

    HIGH SCHOOL: State champion in the pole vault at the 2006 Ohio state indoor championships...tied for the state indoor record at 12'0"...named Outdoor Conference Field Athlete of the Year as a senior... picked up a third-place finish in the outdoor state meet...school record holder in the pole vault (12'2"), 100-meter hurdles (15.10) and 300-meter hurdles (47.6)...three-time first-team all-city honoree in the pole vault...holds pole vault records at the conference, district, city and regional levels...four-time academic all-state selection...earned numerous conference, district and regional records in the pole vault...elected as president of the French Club and French National Honors Society...also served as vice-president of the student government...was the chair of multiple committees as a member of the National Honor Society...class salutatorian...graduated with honors.

    PERSONAL: Daughter of Peter and Lisa Beerse...nickname is Mel...is the oldest of eight children - Matt (21), Mark (19), Megan (17), Mitchell (15), Molly (13), Michael (7) and Macallan (2)...Oliver was born Sept. 24, 2009...majoring in biology, while earning a minor in French...future plans include becoming a physical therapist...serving as Squadron Commander...also served as Assault Course First Sergeant, Squadron First Sergeant, Group Operations NCO and Squadron Director of Operations...hobbies include drawing, painting, art, rock climbing and spending time with family...spent eight years as a competitive gymnast, "so I've been upside-down my entire life"...spent the summer taking a philosophy class and training for the track season...member of Cadet Squadron 12.
