    FRESHMAN (2008): Recorded a personal-best clearance of 15'7" at the Willie Williams Classic to open the outdoor season...placed fourth at that meet...that mark was tied for the fourth-best outdoor clearance on the team...recorded a season-best indoor mark of 15'6¼" at the Robert Shine Invitational...placed fourth at that meet...ranked fifth on the team during the indoor season.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Won the pole vault at the 2008 Arizona 5A-1 state track and field championships...recorded a personal-best clearance of 15'6"...graduated with honors.

    PERSONAL: Full name is Brandin Wesley Bear...son of James and Sheri Bear...has one younger sister, Ashli...majoring in management...future plans include working as an acquisitions officer and then starting own business...named to the Athletic Director's List...enjoys snowboarding...father was enlisted in the Navy...several other family members served in the armed forces, including grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and cousin...member of Cadet Squadron 12.
