MAJOR CROSS COUNTRY HIGHLIGHTS: Helped Air Force to the team title at the Jay Dirksen/Woody Greeno Invitational in 2016, after finishing 13th out of 219 runners.

HIGH SCHOOL: Boerne Champion High School...member of two Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) 4-A state cross country championship teams (2011, 2012)...four-time state qualifier in cross country...three-time selection to the San Antonio Super Team...ran a career-best 5000-meter cross country time of 15:12...three-time state qualifier in track...earned a bronze medal in the 3200-meter run at the UIL state meet...three-year captain of the varsity cross country and track teams...personal-best times include 50.1 (400-meter dash), 1:57.3 (800-meter run), 4:15 (1600-meter run) and 9:18 (3200-meter run)...served as president of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Ultimate Frisbee Club and Friends and Faith...CEO and creator of the Nooice app...member of the Student-Council...graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors...ranked 10th in graduating class of 323 with a 4.0 GPA...two-time academic all-state selection.

PERSONAL: Full name is Andrew Covie Tankersley...nickname is “Chappie”...son of Mike and Jessie Tankersley...father served in the Air Force for 22 years, retiring as a of 13 children...two siblings, Abigail and Stephen, were members of the cross country and track teams at Memphis...majoring in behavioral science (human factors)...future plans include becoming a physical therapist...served as Athletic Clerk and Honor Clerk...named to the Superintendent’s List for excellence in military, academic and athletic performance...hobbies include playing basketball, ultimate Frisbee and football...also enjoys playing the piano, counting sand grains on the beach, “jogging a bit”, rescuing people from broken elevators with Mickey Davey, eating salad, asking “did someone say my name?” and making “Chappieccinos”...loves Nutella...ran a Chocolate Milk Mile in 5:06...can speak AMI-SAMI...once completed a cartwheel with both hands...won a round of Exploding Kittens on second try...interested in catching a frog and naming it “Ribbit”...earned Jump Wings over the summer after taking AM 490...also completed the CyberSpace program, commissioning education and Expeditionary Survival and Evasion Training (ESET)...served as a counselor at the Jim Ryun Running Camp in Greeley...member of Cadet Squadron 19.
