JUNIOR YEAR | 2016-17: Qualified to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 10,000-meter run...all-conference honoree...impacted the Academy record book in three events...clocked a career-best 10K time of 29:13.21 to debut in fourth on the Academy's all-time list...that time is also a new Junior Class Record...earned the team's Track Athlete of the Week award following that meet...earned all-conference honors after placing third at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships (30:29.52, adjusted for altitude)...finished 14th at the NCAA West Preliminary (30:11.80)...debuted on the program's 5000-meter standings during both the indoor and outdoor seasons...clocked the seventh-fastest outdoor time (13:59.00) at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival...registered the ninth-fastest indoor time (14:08.27) at the Husky Classic...scored for the Falcons at the MW Indoor Championships in the 5000-meter run (fourth, 14:34.56a) and 3000-meter run (sixth, 8:08.81a)...academic all-conference selection.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2015-16: Competed in the 5000-meter run during three meets...posted a season-best time of 14:36.14 at the Mt. SAC Relays...ran the 1500-meter run once, finishing third (3:51.82, adjusted for altitude) in debut...did not compete during the indoor season...academic all-conference selection.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2014-15: Clocked a Freshman Class Record in the 5000-meter run during only outdoor appearance of the season...posted a time of 14:22.70 at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival...competed in that distance once during the indoor season...posted a time of 14:46.86 to finish second at the Tyson Invitational...ran the 3000-meter run in three meets...clocked a personal-best time of 8:22.72 (adjusted for altitude) to finish fourth at the Air Force Invitational...academic all-conference selection.

MAJOR CROSS COUNTRY HIGHLIGHTS: Two-time all-conference and all-region selection...represented the Academy at the NCAA Championships as a junior and senior...finished fourth at the 2017 Mountain West Championships...placed sixth at the 2016 meet...was the Falcons' top finisher during three meets in 2016 (Notre Dame Invitational: 17th of 202, Pre-National Invitational: 33rd of 264, NCAA Mountain Regional: 14th of 113) and two in 2017 (Notre Dame Invitational: 9th of 177, MW Championships: 4th of 65)...earned MVP honors as a senior.

HIGH SCHOOL: Olentangy Liberty High School...two-time All-Ohio selection in cross country...also earned four all-state honors in track and field...named New Balance Nationals All-American in the 4xmile...earned academic all-state honors in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.

PERSONAL: Full name is Andrew David Johnston...goes by Andy...son of Andy and Ann Johnston...both parents were born and raised in Scotland and came to the U.S. after they were married...has three siblings, Callum, Duncan and Mhairi...Callum is in nursing school at Midway University, while Duncan and Mars both attend The Ohio State University...majoring in management...future plans include becoming a pilot, before eventually opening a candy company named after his sister, Mars...currently serving as squadron's B-3 Element NCO...named to the Dean's List and Athletic Director's List...member of the "500 Club" for recording a perfect score on the AFT...received Jump Wings in the summer of 2015...hobbies include giving relationship advice, conducting absurd science experiments that result in the perfect cup of coffee, wearing trucker hats, eating granola and philosophizing...would like to give a shout out to "my family and friends who are cool"...worked Air Force Sports Camps and completed the Powered Flight program over the summer...member of Cadet Squadron 12.
