JUNIOR YEAR | 2015-16: Impacted the Academy record book in four events, including top-three marks in the heptathlon and pentathlon...posted the third-highest heptathlon total in program history (4,632) at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships...tossed a career-best shot put distance of 31’2½” at that meet...first entered the Academy’s all-time heptathlon standings following a 4,529-point performance at the California Invitational...broke the Academy’s heptathlon event record in the 800-meter run (2:20.50) at that meet...also posted outdoor-best marks in the high jump (5’0½”) and long jump (16’3”) in California...anchored the 4x400-meter relay that clocked the sixth-fastest time in program history (3:50.19) at the Michael Johnson Invitational...added a career-best time of 63.57 in the 400-meter hurdles at that meet...recorded a career-best time of 26.47 in the 200-meter dash at the Colorado Invitational...posted season-best marks in the 100-meter hurdles (14.65) and javelin throw (125’9”) at the Air Force Twilight Open...moved into second on the Academy’s pentathlon standings during the indoor season...collected a career-best total of 3,582 points to finish seventh at the MW Indoor Championships...that total is also a new Junior Class Record...set season-best marks in the 800-meter run (2:21.59, adjusted for altitude), 60-meter hurdles (8.90), high jump (5’3¾”), long jump (17’2¾”) and shot put (29’11½”) at the conference meet...competed in the 200-meter dash (26.92) at the Air Force Team Challenge...also ran the 55-meter hurdles (8.34) at the Rocky Mountain Classic.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2014-15: Competed in eight indoor meets...registered a season-high time of 8.89 in the 60-meter hurdles prelims at the Mountain West Indoor Championships...participated in the heptathlon at the Air Force Invitational, finishing eighth with a total of 3,184 points...registered a career-best 5’2¼” in the high jump at that meet...made only appearance of the season in the shot put (26’2¾”) and 800-meter dash (2:39.02) at that meet...posted season-best marks in the 200-meter dash(26.68) and long jump (16’10½”) at the New Mexico Invitational...clocked a time of 8.45 to finish third in the 55-meter hurdles at the Rocky Mountain Classic...competed in the hurdles during three outdoor meets...ranked second on the team in the 400-meter hurdles after clocking a career-best time of 1:04.08 at the Texas Invitational...also posted a season-best 15.27 in the 100-meter hurdles at that meet.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2013-14: Impacted the Academy record book in four events...clocked the program's third-fastest time in the 60-meter hurdles (8.76) at the Air Force Team Challenge...recorded the fourth-best pentathlon total in Academy history (3344) at the Mountain West Indoor Championships...that mark is also a new Freshman Class Record...led off the 4x400-meter relay that clocked the program's fourth-fastest time (3:51.30, converted) during a seventh-place finish at the conference meet...added the fourth-best 100-meter hurdles time (14.48) during the outdoor season...led the team in the long jump during the indoor season...recorded a career-best mark of 17'3½" at the Air Force Team Challenge...posted personal-best marks to finish within the top five of the 55-meter hurdles (8.27) and high jump (4'11") at the Rocky Mountain Classic...added career-best marks in the 200-meter dash (26.27 at the New Mexico Invitational), 800-meter run (2:24.93a at the Air Force Invitational) and shot put (30'0" at the MW Championships) during the indoor season...clocked a career-best 100-meter hurdles time of 14.48 to take second at the Air Force Twilight Open...that time was the fastest on the team in 2014...picked up a first-place finish at the Air Force Relays (14.65)...recorded a personal-best 400-meter hurdles time of 64.48 at the Baldy Castillo Invitational...won that event at the Air Force Relays (65.94)...also added career-best marks in the high jump (4'9") and javelin throw (114'9") at that meet...earned the team's Newcomer of the Week award five times (three indoor, two outdoor).

HIGH SCHOOL: The Classical Academy (Colorado Springs)...six-time Colorado 3A state champion...claimed three state titles in the 300-meter hurdles, two in the 100-meter hurdles and one as a member of the sprint medley relay team...set Championship Meet Records in both hurdle events (14.23 in the 100-meter hurdles; 42.75 in the 300-meter hurdles)...named "Peak Performer of the Year" by the Colorado Springs Gazette as a senior...member of three Colorado state championship teams...served as team captain during senior year...also played on the volleyball team...member of three teams that advanced to the state tournament (freshman, sophomore, junior years)...two-time team captain...received an academic pin every year...member of the National Honor Society...member of the Fellowship of Christian captain as a senior...participated in Speech and Debate, advancing to the National meet as a sophomore...acted as a mentor to sixth-grade girls...class representative as a freshman...member of the student body's Executive Council as a junior.

PERSONAL: Full name is Alexa Frances Chacon...nickname is "Lexerz"...daughter of Brad and Frances Chacon...has one older sister...majoring in behavioral science...earning a minor in religious studies...future plans include working with PTSD and TBI patients on physical and psychological therapy...has served as Element Leader and Flight Commander...hobbies include mountain biking, beach volleyball, camping, skiing and dancing...would like to add that "my commitment to my faith, family and friends is what I hold most dear"...theme of the season is PERSEVERENCE...considers Philippians 1:6, Luke 12:48 and Romans 5:3-6 as Bible verses to live by...uncle Greg Chacon was a hurdler at Stanford...grandfather served in the Vietnam War...member of Cadet Squadron 06.
