USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Senior Annette Eichenberger was named the Air Force co-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 21, after setting a new Academy record in the 1000-meter run at last week's Holiday Inn Invitational.
Eichenberger shattered the Academy record in the 1000-meter record during a dominating win at the Holiday Inn Invitational on Friday, Jan. 17. Clocking a time of 2:51.19, the senior finished over five seconds ahead of the closest competitor, while cutting over three seconds from the program's previous 2011 standard. She also ran the second leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that clocking the fourth-fastest time in the conference (3:57.35) so far this season.
Eichenberger, who shared the athletic department's weekly honor with diver Savanna Meadows and the rest of the Falcons' track and field team return to action on Thursday (Jan. 23) for the three-day Air Force Invitational.
