Rifle Team Fails To Get a Win in Lexington
U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. -- The Rifle team failed to win in Lexington against the University of Kentucky over the weekend. On Sunday, Dec. 4, the Kentucky Blue team out scored Air Force, 4608-4586. In smallbore, Air Force lost, 2321-2293, to Kentucky. AFA's Chris Hill shot an aggregate 580 (200-187-139), Michelle Bonneau finished with a 562 (192-185-185). Tim Siemer scored a 570 (200-180-190), while Matt Colvin shot a 581 (195-193-193). However, the match was not a total loss for Air Force as the Falcons outscored Kentucky, 2293-2287, in air rifle. Ray Geyer from Kentucky was the leader in air rifle with an aggregate score of 582. Hill was the Falcons' leader with a score of a 580. Colvin followed with a score of 568. Justin Raines from Air Force had a 571 and Jessica Palomba came in with a 574 for a team score 2293. On January 15-16, the Rifle team will travel to Texas to compete in the UTEP Tournament. On January 28-29, the team will compete against TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. In February 2005, Air Force will host the NCAA Qualifiers.
