The Academy rifle team will host three events in November.


    The Academy rifle team will host three events in November. On Nov. 6, Army, Navy and Coast Guard compete against the Falcons in the President's Cup starting at 8:00 a.m. at the Cadet Gymnasium rifle range. On Nov. 12-13, Air Force will host Nevada-Reno and on Nov. 19, the Falcons will compete against UTEP.

    The Falcon shooters will have in their sights the Black Knights of West Point, who are the defending NCAA national champions. The midshippmen from the Naval Academy and cadets from the Coast Guard Academy will also be competing in the four-way competition.

    This unique competition pits eight shooters from each team against each other, the top five of which will make up their respective team's total score. In the past several years, the Naval Academy has won the event with close challenges from the cadets of West Point.

    In December, the Falcons will compete in the National Team Trials, Dec. 2-4, at the US Olympic Training Center.
