C2C Meredith Carpentier (CS35), smallbore and air rifle. Carpenter led the Air Force rifle team in both the smallbore and air rifle disciplines during the two-day matches against the UTEP rifle team in El Paso, Texas, Oct. 19-20. Carpentier had a combined aggregate 2,347 for both days. On Saturday, she led the field in both air rifle and smallbore with a 595 and 580, respectively, for an aggregate 1,175. On Sunday, she was the top shooter in air rifle (591) and had a 581 in smallbore (1,172).
On both days, Carpenter was backed up by teammates C3C Kevyn Stinett (air rifle) and C3C David Higgins (smallbore). Stinett's aggregate was 1,178, Higgins' was 1,157. It was the best season opener for the Air Force rifle team in over six years under the guidance of Head Coach Launi Meili.
