U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo.: - U.S. Air Force Academy marksman freshman Tyler Rico has been selected to compete at the International Shooting Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Ft Benning, Ga. The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) and USA Shooting are prepping to host an ISSF World Cup for Rifle and Pistol, May 5-12. A total of 300 athletes, including 32 of America's top Olympic-style shooters, representing 41 nations are expected to compete. Known as the Home of Champions, the USAMU, located in Ft. Benning, Ga., will play host to the ISSF World Cup for the seventh time. Rico, one of four rising National Junior Team members, will be competing in the 10-meter Air Rifle.

"With this being my first ISSF match I am really looking forward to competing in this match and starting my international shooting career," said Rico (Flowing Wells H.S).

"It's great that Tyler is getting selected to represent the US in international competition," said head coach Launi Meili. This shows he's not only made the team, but is getting recognition from the head coach as someone ready for this opportunity. He had a great score at the Jr. Olympics, and that experience is a good stepping stone onto a larger stage." Meili will be accompanying Rico as the U.S. team coach when they travel to the going to Czech Republic for the June 9-17 competitions.
