2014 National Junior Olympic Championships

    U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - Air Force Cadet Mary Simonton finished 83rd among 110 shooters in the 10m air rifle at the 2014 National Junior Olympic Championships at the US Olympic Shooting Center in Colorado Springs.

    On April 16-17, Simonton scored a 392.2 on day 1 and a 397.1 on day 2 for a combined total of 789.3 points. The JO women's champion was Abby Votava from Colorado with a combined score of 836.7. Elizabeth Marsh took second place with 833.6 and Minden Miles placed third with 833.3 points.

    The men's JO relays begin Tuesday, April 22-26. Air Force men Tyler Rico, Ryan Jacobs and David Higgins will compete in the air rifle and three-position smallbore.

    This year's NJOSC served as the first of two parts of selection for the Junior team for the ISSF World Championships in Granada, Spain in September. Members of that team will be determined following the USA Shooting National Championships for Rifle and Pistol in June.
