NCAA RIFLE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

    U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, COLO. - The Academy's rifle team competes in the NCAA Rifle National Championships in Columbus, Ohio, March 8-9, at Ohio State. Ranked eighth-nationally the Falcons are one of two service academies to qualify as No. 6 Army will also be participating for the 10th straight year. This is the first time since 2003 the Falcons have qualified for the NCAAs. Rounding out the 2013 teams are No. 1 West Virginia, No. 2 Kentucky, No. 3 TCU, No. 4 Alaska Fairbanks, No. 5 Jacksonville State along with No. 7 Nebraska.


    Shooting for the Academy in smallbore and air rifle are sophomore Meredith Carpentier, senior Matt Kluckman and freshmen Kevyn Stinett, David Higgins and Tyler Rico. This is the first time for each of these Academy shooters and the first time in 10 years for an Academy team to compete in the NCAA Rifle National Championships. The Academy has participated in the NCAAs a 13 times from 1980-2003 and 2013.

    Friday, March 8th 2013
    8 A.M. - Smallbore (individual and team competition with finals - Converse Hall)

    • Relay #1: 8-10 a.m.
    • Relay #2: 10:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
    • Relay #3: 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
    • Individual Finals: 4:30 p.m.

     

     

    Saturday, March 9th, 2013
    8 A.M. - Air Rifle (individual and team competition with finals - French Field House)

    • Relay #1: 8-10 a.m.
    • Relay #2: 10:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
    • Individual Finals: 1:45 p.m.
    • Awards: Upon Completion of Finals
