Cadet York continues to show good progress in his performance. He is equally skilled in both events. In last year's matches he fired a season high 577 in the smallbore against the Citadel in January. He stayed at or above 570/600 in several of his events. In air rifle he topped out at 588 in the TCU match in February. He stayed above 580 in his last five matches of the season. 2009-10: Shot a season-high in the smallbore (556) and air rifle (579) at the Air Force-TCU match with an aggregate 1135 ... finished 48th in the Winter Air Gun Championships in air rifle (572) ... finished 21st in the 10m Junior Air Gun. BEFORE THE ACADEMY: He was homeschooled ... his father graduated from USAFA in 1984, uncle, James York, is a 1984 USMA graduate ... also has two uncles, Pete, who graduated from USAFA in 1986 and John, who graduated from UNA in 1988 ... enjoys air soft, snowboarding, photography and camping and hunting. |
