2011-12 Outlook: Cadet Vasquez was one of our top air rifle shooters last year and feel he will lead the team in this event. His smallbore scores are increasing consistently and should make the first team in this event during the season. Cadet Vasquez has a great chance to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships. As the Team Captain he has already fostered a positive/winning atmoshphere.

2009-10: Shot a 582/600 in smallbore at the season opener against Nebraska ... also shot a 576 in the air rifle against West Virginia ... at the home matches versus Nevada-Reno and UTEP, he finished in 10th place with a score of 578in air rifle ... in the four-man NCAA lineup at the President's Trophy Cup, he fired a 588 in air rifle ... Air Force finished third in the event ... shot a personal best 579 in an air rifle match against Alaska in Fairbanks ... in the next match, he finished the day with an aggregate score of 1159 (580).

2007-08 Earned most improved shooter award. 2008-09: Did not compete during the season.

Before Air Force: He graduated from Montwood High School ... lettered three years in NJROTC rifle ... Attended the USAFA Prep School, earned second most improved academically award.

Academy: Majoring in General Chemistry ... wants to attend pilot training after graduation.

Personal: Parents are Ruben and Rosey Vasquez ... has two siblings, Michael and Stephonie ... enjoys snowboarding and paintball.
